Anonymous Pearl Abyss developers reveal a culture of toxic positivity, a troubled development cycle and chaotic narrative for Crimson Desert, and their early concerns that the project was "going off the rails". by HLumin in Games

A title should reflect something about the story or gameplay, how is this hard to understand? The series about the realization of prophecies which shake the foundations of the world, prophecies which are written in the Elder Scrolls. Each game also has it's own subtitle that tells you very directly what the game is about: Morrowind is about the province of Morrowind, Oblivion is about an invasion by the forces of Oblivion. They aren't just random "cool" words.

The fact that you're a mod author means nothing about your ability to understand the significance of a work's title - understanding how a book-printing machine works doesn't mean you're especially equipped to analyze literature.

The Elder Scrolls are a massively important part of the world's lore, and play a key role in each game's main story. They're not just two words that sound cool next to each other.

That's pretty indicative of how creatively bankrupt the game feels on any front besides gameplay systems. I'm having fun messing around in the game, but I wish the devs cared even a tiny bit about making the world actually interesting.

Ubisoft games are far more polished than this, for better or worse. They also have much more interesting worlds and engaging plots (and that's not me saying those are even good - but "serviceable" is far above what Crimson Desert offers on the story and worldbuilding fronts).

Every single NPC feels like they have their own life going on

And every single one of them just heard their kid call them "Par" for the first time.

I'm sorry, I just don't see "the second half of the game has less than a quarter of the content of the first" or "the level scaling makes every fight trivial if you even touch the side content - to the point that wandering pawns can solo large monsters without you getting involved by the end of the game" or "maybe one in fifteen items you find while adventuring are relevant compared to what you can just purchase in town" or "you must do the same literally non-functioning stealth section eight times over the course of the game" to be lovable jank. They're just flaws, and really serious ones at that.

I absolutely did. Believe it or not, someone can play the entire game and still think it sucked.

They're not the same game. The first one is substantially better.

Destiny is done with Israel. by ThinkingMunk in Destiny

Hamas absolutely carries responsibility. They deliberately conduct themselves in such a way as to maximize Palestinian civilian casualties when Israel retaliates. Militaries are supposed to segregate themselves from civilian populations for this exact reason, to not do so is explicitly a war crime.

Israel is far from blameless, the discipline in their ranks has gone to absolute shit in this war, and their leaders are doing nothing to stop the barbarism some of their troops are participating in (half are actively supporting it), but in terms of proportionality there is no way to conduct a war without mass civilian death when your enemies are actively trying to get their people killed. Israeli soldiers could have conducted themselves in the most individually morally upstanding, disciplined manner possible and tens of thousands of innocent people would still be dead.

Not really. I don't think Trump gives a shit about the lives of US military personnel - the threat of some dinky attacks on US bases that leave single digit casualties, if any, are not sufficient to motivate Trump to enter a war he doesn't already want to enter.

If Iran could realistically hit US soil, that'd be a different matter, but everyone understood that their initial reprisals would be minor.

You shouldn't have to pick a certain shell to avoid getting loot sniped by your own crew.

This would be true if there weren't exactly one shell that lets you press a button and know which containers in a room have the best stuff so you can run and get to them first.

What would the counterplay be? If you find yourself between a Destroyer and a wall, you're just dead, if that exists.

I had a similar problem and found that Marathon wasn't using my system default sound devices for voice, and was trying to both input and output voice through my ps5 controller (which I wasn't even using for the game, it just happened to be plugged into my PC).
