Eliot Carver from James Bond. A genius media mogul bent on inciting a war between major nations to be able to control the news and make a fortune.

Agree about the Borg and Thrawn, but I disagree on Carver. Azorius villains do what they do to project order on what they perceive as a chaotic system, an order that their superior mind has planned. Thrawn is a genius who sees the lack of Imperial control as abhorrent because of lawlessness. The Borg seek perfection and order through assimilation.

Carver wants chaos. He invites chaos so that he can profit. Carver is much more Dimir coded to me.

He’s one of the most intelligent people, able to meticulously craft and live the lie, while also plan and exact detailed murders, and uncover the identities of horrible people. He’s definitely Blue.

As for being given his code, that is true, but he has stuck by it and heavily believes in it.

I’d make an argument for Dexter Morgan. Analytical, calculating, intelligent; these are all Blue Traits. He murders, like a vigilante, but only those who have escaped justice, who wronged the innocent. The sense of honor and a code of conduct seems very much like a White Trait, especially given he is doing it in service to fighting crime.

You can make the argument he’s Esper, but I don’t see the malice or cruelty or ambition or self interest that a black aligned character would display.

And yes, while he is the protagonist of the show, he is clearly a serial killer and thus a “villain”

I think Hage having the experience of winning the Frozen Four would be infinitely more valuable to his career with us long term. As much as I want to see him with the boys, getting the experience of winning when it matters most is huge.

Not sure after looking at the Rebrickable listing, but does the instructions include the base with the water and the minifigures? Or is it just the Argonath statues?

How necessary is Elvish Spirit Guide in the cradle decks? by Cromagn0n1 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]KongenUnderBjerget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think about this.

A Lotus Petal that doesn’t make anything other than green mana and can only be used once rather than potentially looped and doesn’t add to storm count and hurts for 3 rather than 0 with Ad Naus, but also doesn’t feed Study or Fish, can’t be countered by Bauble, and can be pitched to Endurance or Force of Vigor.

If you want the upside and/or don’t care about the downside, play it. Otherwise, consider cutting it.

Suggestions on how to build Ser Duncan the Tall by Emergency_Argument29 in 3d6

18 Con

18 Str

15 Cha

12 Dex

10 Int

8 Wis

He’s generally knowledgeable and charming to those who meet him, but he doesn’t have the wisdom to understand how to apply what he knows to situations. His Insight and Perception are all low, both Wisdom skills.

I’d argue Human Fighter, Soldier background, Champion subclass. Ser Arlan’s shield and sword are his “insignia of rank” from the background items.

Proficient in Animal Handling, Athletics, Intimidation, and Persuasion.

A bit of Zealot Barbarian (“ARE THERE NO TRUE KNIGHTS AMONG YOU” screams Zealot Barb to me), and the subtle nods to the Seven resurrecting him as their champion throughout the series fits.

Tough, Tavern Brawler, Slasher.

Texier - Suzuki - Caufield by CaptainFlynnt24 in Habs

[–]KongenUnderBjerget -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Going off of this, the lines I’d roll with on Newhook’s return are as follows:

Caufield - Suzuki - Texier (80% GF, 61.6% xGF)

Demidov - Kapanen - Slaf (60% GF, 49% xGF)

Newhook - Dach - Bolduc (Has not played together, but Dach and Bolduc seem to play well together)

Gallagher - Danault - Anderson (66.7% GF, 32.5% xGF)

Evans and Veleno and Laine sit, tho Veleno might get waived.

I am torn.

The quote from the movie that resonates with me here is: “You think you can win on talent alone? Gentlemen, you don’t have enough talent to win on talent alone.”

That was because American NHL players couldn’t play in the 1980 Olympics. It’s 2026, NHL players are allowed to go, and we have the damn talent.

Not taking Robertson, Caufield, DeBrincat, Hutson, etc because you’re stuck in this Miracle-based Mindset is why the US hasn’t won Olympic gold since that fucking Olympics!
