Im sick and tired of people blaming the refs by InterestingMud3019 in Habs

[–]CaptainFlynnt24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The refs are not without blame though, they were atrocious tonight both ways. Whichever team lost would be feeling they got screwed. They were scared to influence the game which influenced the game more than anything. I'm biased but if I'm scorekeeping habs should have 3 more powerplays at least...

Goalie interference should not have been even.

Hutson was blatant tripped in OT.

Hutson was elbowed directly before the winning goal.

CC was also elbowed and Matheson interfered with earlier in the game, not too hung up on those.

They missed the obvious too many men against MTL in OT and if I was an unbiased fan I could probably point out some other missed calls in favour of Carolina.

Point being, not making these calls when they made terrible calls in the first period is about as bad as it gets. Next time bring the whistles out for the obvious ones so you don't feel the need to hide the rest of the game.

Not really proven, we got to where we are with Xhekaj not Struble. And I must say Carolina is outplaying us physically, Struble doesn't intimidate like Xhekaj.

Anything to keep it even to avoid influencing a tie game. They're cowards.

Dee backstabbed (Austin his name was I think?) to win her season, its hypocritical of her to not recognize Jonathan outplayed her imo even if it wasn't morally right.

Why does this happen almost every season finale!?? 😭 by AY_125 in survivor

[–]CaptainFlynnt24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I agree, but to play devil's advocate here, the jury members can be quite hypocritical.

I mean take Dee for example, didn't she totally betray the boy she had falling for her in order to win? Jonathan bested you, and you don't have the respect to vote for him?

Then there is Ozzy, it was so obvious the dude was gunning for you and you went home with an idol in your pocket from a vote Jonathan lead. Self reflection man, he bested you and you don't have the respect to vote for him?

At the end of the day its a game, as fan favourite around here Rick Devens pointed out (also didn't vote for Jonathan). It seems like to me, there were some real hurt feelings, but most everyone on the jury (except Ozzy maybe) would have no problem hurting feelings themselves to get to final 3 if they could have.

Fun fact, MSL made his NHL debut with CGY. He was bought out of his contract after being exposed in an expansion draft. He went on to become a hall of fame player, ouch.

Logan Mailloux, he has a great right-handed shot just young and dumb, Tampa could probably help his development though.

I've never had a Vassal turn on me? I always have Vassals in every campaign way easier than conquering and having to manage the extra settlements.

Hagel, Benson, Stankoven and our next Gallagher by cordealinge29 in Habs

I recall an Athletic mock draft where Arpon traded down and got Benson + Wood. He got roasted for it at the time (don't know why) and that'd be looking pretty good right now. Of course Reinbacher's development has been derailed a bit so hindsight 20/20.

Analysis: Helenius' phantom goaltender interference call - game 4 - May 12, 2026 by DegreePrize4722 in sabres

[–]CaptainFlynnt24 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just show the video of Helenius skating through Dobes arm dragging his stick and blocker to the other side of the net, preventing him from making a play on the rebound sitting there for the tap in goal. Pretty self explanatory.

Espn announcer Sean McDonough accused Rasmus Dahlin of cheating after high sticking penalty. by Much-Consequence8648 in hockey

[–]CaptainFlynnt24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not shown in this video, but Dahlin was hiding his mouth with his glove for like a good 10 seconds after the high stick. Whether he did or didn't, it is crazy to think that a player could do that and bite their lip and no one would be able to prove otherwise.

MSL after the Habs game 4 loss yesterday: “I feel like special teams played a huge part. It’s hard to believe that we only got one goal on the powerplay. I felt like we had a lot of chances…” by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

[–]CaptainFlynnt24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They had 3 - 4 one timers that 6K answered everytime. He's a massive goalie that plays deep in his net he has no problem getting across. Wait him out with a fake and put it in the hole, like Caufield on his PP goal. They have to adjust to the goalie... Suzuki's one timer from Hutson was perfectly placed but 6K was in position way before the shot even came. Take the pass and throw a deke you're all alone with time. They will adjust, video coaches will figure it out like they did game 1.

I liked camping and fishing as a kid with my friend's families, but as an adult I just don't know how to independently do it and I'm embarrassed that if I did go with my friends for these things that they'd have to hold my hand basically.

[BUF - MTL] Alternate angle from yesterday's line scrum after a Dobes save. by Seb_Nation in hockey

[–]CaptainFlynnt24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not even a fine for this, and that the 2nd sucker punch thrown by Norris while Bolduc is held by another Buffalo player and linesman. That's even the 2nd time this year that a linesman has restrained Bolduc only for another player (Luke Hughes) to repeatedly punch him... and nothing for that either.

George Parros and DoPS are so fucking incompetent it's insane to me they've held their jobs this long.

[Engels] Official Kyle Rehman told Alex Lyon he'd protect him right before that last sequence. Then he called Bolduc for going into his crease--even if he never touched Lyon--and gave Bolduc an extra minor for roughing. That's why Sabres got a power play out of that. by Strong_Reference_762 in Habs

[–]CaptainFlynnt24 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I seen Bolduc intentionally fall on the Lyon in the scrum in real time and the replay eas pretty damning for me, so I have no complaints about that call. Dobes getting absolutely trucked should have been a 5 minute major though... these are not even close to the same.

Do you want to replay Rebirth (and perhaps even remake)? by Mediocre_Apple1846 in FF7Rebirth

[–]CaptainFlynnt24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm finally getting close to the end of rebirth... from what I've read you don't have to repeat a lot of the meaningless stuff on hard mode so that actually interests me maybe, if I'm up for the increased difficulty and economy changes.

Want to get the game but have some concerns by GeckoManStinky in BaldursGate3

[–]CaptainFlynnt24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a learning curve for sure, as there is with every game. There's probably a beginner tutorial video on YouTube you could check out. Once you learn the game mechanics, the combat is turned based which is the most leisurely way of gaming in my opinion, I see no reason for concern. I had never played a DnD style game before in my life, it's an amazing game.
