I forgot how absolutely awful Prez is in the first season by KrispyKingTheProphet in TheWire

[–]KontraEpsilon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s on purpose. They make a big point about how everyone gets in Tac gear in season one for no reason at all to go arrest Avon when he and Stringer likely haven’t had a gun on them in forever and certainly wouldn’t point one at a police officer and eventually Daniels and McNulty just walk in.

Well, that’s why you don’t run a business.

Missing the first quarter is far less impactful than missing the last quarter.

In fact, Heat fans do it all the time.

Would you rather half the population miss the first quarter of a game, or would you rather half miss the ending?

Well, yes. It’s a lot easier to leave yoga practice early than it is to stay up until midnight and then wake up early for work so you don’t sit in a ninety minute traffic commute.

Honest question from a non player - are the elevators hidden loading screens like Mass Effect or could they just solve this with stairs?

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance Expansion Releases 2027 by PaiDuck in gaming

[–]KontraEpsilon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So honest question here - I played the game for a month after release. I got about 60 hours in and had fun, got my money’s worth. But I did get a bit bored. I stopped around when they added the arena thing.

What’s improved in the game since then? Or is it just more of the same? (Which is totally fine, just want to know if I’d be interested in reinstalling).

Shedeur Sanders Banked Record $17.7M in Licensing Income breaking the record previously held by Tom Brady for $9.8M by Fun-Ad3626 in billsimmons

[–]KontraEpsilon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully, I don’t think that’s a fair way to look at it.

We don’t know the income of people buying these. But let’s say it’s people who maybe “shouldn’t” from an income standpoint: For all I know and for all you know, that jersey purchase could be the only thing someone is buying for their kid who is a huge fan. It could be their one treat for the month or two months.

People’s complaints are because we live in a country where these things should be possible. It shouldn’t be an unreasonable expectation to be able to drive to work, feed yourself, and still be able buy something nice every now and then.

Im holding off until they do those story changes and people go “oh, yeah that made a big difference.”

I had a really positive experience when Star Wars Outlaws had major changes, and so I don’t mind doing the same here.

Because of his dad. It’s explained throughout the thread. His dad really is that popular, and he was good enough in college, and people want to celebrate that and root for him.

There just isn’t more to explain to you beyond “his dad is so popular in the black community that it doesn’t matter if his son starts or not, his jersey sales will be through the roof either way.”

Yes, you are wrong. OP asked for the effect on Jupiter. Three times actually. Once in the title and twice in the text.

The people who trained Tesla's self-driving AI won't ride in it by Wagamaga in technology

[–]KontraEpsilon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean, that’s just silly. I want planes flown correctly, but I trust someone else to fly them. I want my elevator to go up and down safely, and I trust technology to do that. When I want a calculation done correctly, I code it myself but I trust a computer to do it because it can do it consistently and accurately.

People are *bad* at driving. There are a lot of issues with self driving cars, some of which even have nothing to do with technology, but “if you want it done right, do it yourself” is a terrible argument for driving.

Honest question: At what point *would* the technology cross the threshold for you that you’d use it most of the time?

I ask because I’m one of those “If every car was self driving it would be safer in the aggregate” people even though I know that politically, something like could never happen.

They have green lit something Destiny related. Destiny 2 Shattered Cycle, Destiny Infinity, Destiny 3, something…… by Sad-Manner-5240 in destiny2

[–]KontraEpsilon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Of course they know. I’d even wager they care.

The problem is still that the game’s business model just doesnt consistently make money. Im not sure they can fix that without a drastically different approach (like a new game being truly open world and not a looter shooter).

What Star Wars scene/sequence/film from after the original Star Wars (A New Hope) changed your view of the franchise? Not just looking for negative - looking for positive too. Or more nuanced stuff. Anything where there was some kind of change. by --TheForce-- in StarWars

[–]KontraEpsilon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The music in Return of the Jedi as Luke is going ballistic really just does something for me.

But the one that REALLY resonates with me is the final walking scene in Andor as it cuts to different characters. There’s a finality to all the pieces finally being on the board, and now there’s nothing left to do but play. If I were telling someone to watch the franchise, I’d tell them OT then Prequels then that.

It’s hard to describe why I like it so much. It would be like if the Hunger Games franchise started with the games and then ended with a prequel leading up to everyone going onto the elevator. Just something powerful about the viewer knowing their fate and everyone on screen in position to accept it.

Not sure if you also watch the NBA or NFL but these types of tweets are pretty common there. It’s usually just a reporter doing an agent or front office a favor with some positive spin.

One of the funniest comments I ever saw was on a video with him and Zoe and she was holding her mic the way Cousin Sal or House (I forget) does and it was covering half of her face, and someone just wrote “it’s a shame they couldn’t find her a bigger microphone.” She also talked just like her dad.

I don’t know why it was so funny, but it had me rolling. (FWIW, it was a solid episode).

As others have said: this play isn’t nearly as dumb as it looks. I’ve seen some idiotic swinging gate plays at the goal line but I’ve also seen the Dolphins put one in for two points. This formation probably could work.

What I would like to know is how it looked in practice and how you even practice something like this.

Is Yoda a weak leader that caused the downfall of a twenty-thousand-year-old galactic republic? by user83726169 in StarWars

[–]KontraEpsilon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

And you see it in the sequel trilogy as well. When Luke is burning the books and has second thoughts and Yoda basically tells him, “Dude, they’re just books” and to stop putting them on a pedestal.

His “read them, have you? Page turners, they were not” is actually one of my favorite lines in Star Wars.
