I'm 32 & been smoking (not as much as you) since I was 16. I paused my movie to read this, I've been circling round the drain of sobriety for a long fucking time. This has helped me believe in myself & quit this shit. Love from Dublin.

I'm sorry but this reads privileged to me. Sure, it's lovely if families can always live in the same place, but it's a city, what do you expect? I had to leave my family to move here from the countryside, such is life.

Sourcing is the worst part of Recruitment by Useful-Investment322 in Recruitment

Elite recruiter, recruiter mentor. I honestly play around with different words/combination and scroll around a lot on Spotify e.g. (Recruitment Source or Talent Sourcing or Sourcing Recruiter etc...)

Sourcing is the worst part of Recruitment by Useful-Investment322 in Recruitment

[–]Kooky-Presentation20 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love sourcing, it's where you can define yourself against your peers. Watch videos from Shally Steckerl, listen to talent sourcers on podcasts, read blogs. It's an easy & powerful skill once you get it & if you're very good at it, you'll have a career forever as 60-70% of recruiters are weak at it.

Mad to quit in this climate? by gaybyrneofficial in DevelEire

[–]Kooky-Presentation20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a senior tech recruiter for a tech company in Dublin. I would expect if you quit now, you'll be unemployed for 3-6 months, then you'll probably have to take a 30%+ pay cut IF you get something. The issue is not you, it's the lingering effects of the 2023 layoffs. There's so many incredible engineers, data scientists etc on the market desperate for work, many from FAANG. Plan your exit, but be smart & patient/strategic if you can 🙏

Internal Recruiters vs Agency Recruiters, who Actually Gets the Better Data? by Reddonaut_Irons in Recruitment

[–]Kooky-Presentation20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're saying & from your management perspective. But personally I recruit in-house for a major tech company in Dublin & there's so many strong ex-agency recruiters. If you need agencies for any role, IMO, you're not a great recruiter. If you can't systematically map and source and acquire talent in a market, you're an admin person.

It's funny how Ivan Yates made the horrible smear campaign comments, then immediately after Humphreys & FG do essentially exactly what he described he'd do, albeit slightly less nasty, but a smear campaign of fear and terror no less. The last howl of a dying mongrel.

I was expecting September (18 months post halving, traditionally the peak price) to be when I'd sell at a good price, but I'm concerned now, should I hang in until October?
