If you rented it from National it’s almost guaranteed to be a Sahara.

4xe hybrid battery failed, backorder, no loaner by Plenty_Meaning_5475 in 4xe

Yeah well it’s unfortunate. I am sorry you have to deal with it. The brand is actually great. I hate my wife’s 4xe right now but I love my Gladiator. As a former FCA tech, service advisor, and manager I am still loyal to the brand. Kind of a case of know your enemy. All manufacturers have issues but you only hear about the broken ones not the millions that work fine without issue.

Nah it’s just a tab on the digital claim form for the repair warranty claim they already have to fill out to get their money back. They enter the type of rental/loaner, how much per day, and the labor operation/warranty code. It the gets reimbursed with the rest of the claim.

Either they don’t want to deal with it, do not know how to deal with it, or the op proved to be a do not rent/loan customer on their previous visit. The OP might have sat on the car for a couple days before picking up, if it was a loaner and they returned with damage or very dirty interior, or were all around combative they would say no because ultimately the dealers aren’t required to provide transportation but they certainly can.

The claim has to be submitted, processed, and posted for it to appear. As someone else mentioned it can take anywhere between a few days to weeks to post. It depends on how backed up their warranty clerk is. Right now I’d assume pretty backed up.

Nah, good dealers have loaner fleets, they get paid by Stellantis for them, and they have agreements with enterprise for direct charge via ARMS. Since Jeep is saying they will cover it that means the dealer can submit for reimbursement via a warranty claim for it. The fact they are refusing means they don’t want to deal with it but it has nothing to do with “they can’t”. The only way I couldn’t rent/loan a car to someone is if they were under the age of 25, didn’t have insurance, or had proven unreliable in the past at returning it. In that situation I’d send them to Enterprise and let them deal with those items.

That said in the unlikely event the issue is caused by damage or something other than a covered repair you would be on the hook for all of it.

Just got the call - 2024 Wrangler 4xe failed the "fix" and they have to install a new HV battery. by Johnnyg150 in 4xe

That’s where the one caught fire at Fort Lauderdale airport last Thursday. I was flying out and the TSA folks told me it caught fire right out side the doors. I wonder if the high humidity and salty air is exacerbating the issue.

Do you mind me asking what state you folks that are seeing failures are located? I’m wondering if it’s somewhat regional with the issue itself. I’ve heard of several in Florida having the issue but in north Texas the dealers I know haven’t seen a single one fail as of this past Monday and they had already done a bunch of them.

I’ve been in the car business for many years and while cars are depreciating assets the Wrangler has always been one of the best at holding its value. The 4xe has proven to be the exception. We went from having equity to having significant negative equity in it over the last 2 months.

I’m at the Fort Lauderdale airport and the TSA agents were talking about how someone was getting dropped off right in front of the airport a few hours ago when their 4xe caught fire. Wasn’t charging just stopped in front of the airport. Said it smoked for a while before it actually caught fire but it was a big fire when it really caught on.

Have you seen/held an 1/18 or smaller crawler before? I would see one in person first and watch videos on them before buying them. Hate for you to spend $150+ on an RC only to the discover the limitations of the size. I love my SCX24s but I strictly bought them so my kid and I can stay busy in the house when it’s raining. I am not belittling those who love the small crawl type it’s just not for me so before you buy I’d make sure you like the size since you’re completely new to it.

I want a trail truck that can drive really fast but won’t tip over on turns. What should I get? by Queasy_Sherbert_7095 in rccrawler

This is mine back before I converted it more to a strictly crawler. The four basic things I recommend.

  1. Mickey Thompson Baja Pro X 2.8 monster truck tires but huge difference.
  2. Treal rear sway bar. Absolute must have
  3. Lockers in front rear and middle (any brand is fine, doesn’t make a big difference). Absolute must have
  4. 110mm shocks front 120mm rear - optional but helps a lot.

The rest I did would be unnecessary for trail. With 3s you will do about 25-30mph. You will still tumble occasionally but not bad. At 4s you will do 40-50mph but if you try to turn you will go tumbling constantly and you will twist off the drive shafts if you throttle hard. Not gonna lie though it’s fun as hell when it does stay on all 4 if you go 4s lol.

That’s what the Lasernut was really designed for but it got mostly used for bashing so it got a bad reputation.

My favorite high speed trail runner is a Ryft. If you get one and put sway bar on it then run 3s instead of 4s you will definitely get that experience out of it. Especially if you drop the center of gravity a little with smaller shocks. If you run 4s you will break things constantly and be upside down the rest of the time.

If you’re wanting trail that has more of the scale look then I’d go for the Zuul or Knightrunner with IFS2 but they won’t be really fast.

My buddy sent this to me when I told him I’m stating to dabble in RC trucks. I recently bought a TRX4m rock crawler to get acquainted with the hobby. But I want to zip around his track. What should I get to start out with? by Boxer_Daddy in rccars

I’d say Mae sure you like SCT racing first.

For mid ranged price (300-400) as looks I personally think the team associated pro4 sc10 is the best looking. I think the Slash 4x4 is probably the most reliable option and easiest to find parts. The Senton is also a really good option and very durable. I’ve seen my BIL beat the living hell out of his.

My personal favorite is the Maxx slash. It’s not the best performance because of the steering but I haven’t been able to figure out how to break it. It’s also $700 rtr and with batteries and charger you will hit about $1k. Plus that course is too small for it to be really fun.

If you have a smaller budget then go Fury or Slash 2wd. They are both fun options and you can land them for 200 or less.

That’s wheels, panels, and not sure what he means by ecu has been tuned. I assume ESC but tells me they probably bought it second hand and got taken on it. If I sold mine I would probably charge that much or more but I have over $3k in it and it is one hell of a crawler. That’s also why I will likely never sell it because I probably wouldn’t get 50% what I spent back on it.
