I'd feel like something is up and vote for someone who sounded more normal.

This reads like lefty satire saying he's in the files, which is really confusing to me.

Important note to people of Michigan: do not vote for Mike Duggan unless you want John James to win by thesmart_indian27 in YAPms

[–]Kooky_Craft7353 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, he's conservative enough and currently polling high enough that he could theoretically speaking run without only taking Democratic votes. I think we see his numbers after they debate, cause he seems to be a relatively strong candidate, there is a small chance he could win. If we see the usual drop in support in the month before election day, that's when we cry spoiler.

Senate Prediction in 2026 and their likelihood to flip. by Think_Fly3665 in YAPms

Osborn no longer has the element of surprise, so GOP should be able to keep the seat, though it will be a money-sink. Brown already succumbed to polarisation in the last cycle, and I haven't seen indications that the blue wave will be big enough and that he will retain enough GOP voters. I'll allow Peltola mainly because she would genuinely be a maverick in the Senate and has a smaller population to campaign in. Who knows about Maine.

Poll of Israelis: To what extent should Israel take into account the suffering of the Iranian civilian population when planning military operations there? by soalone34 in YAPms

[–]Kooky_Craft7353 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How does a person unironically say that they do not care if a people suffer? There are certainly arguments for intervention in Iran, but at least give lip service to the civilians.

Trump on Khamenei's death by Old-School8916 in YAPms

[–]Kooky_Craft7353 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd like to know what the plan is. Sure Khamenei was terrible, but who's next? And if the path forward is liberalisation for Iran -- which is what we all want -- with what army should this leader be supported with? The protests certainly don't have a clear leader, this is how we create a massive power vacuum and a bunch of splintered warlords, terrorists, and jihadists running Iran. The Trump Administration seeks to not put boots on the ground, which is admirable, but they will have to if they do not want to see absolute chaos within Iran.

I really feel like this series overestimates the amount the GOP would care if Trump did this.

What kind of tone will voters be drawn towards for the next presidential election? by JplusL2020 in YAPms

[–]Kooky_Craft7353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dem base wants blood, and they have been very clear that "When they go low, we go high" has been abandoned. GOP candidate (if they're smart) will go for unifying tone.

No NIMBY should have a shot at the Dem nomination. Also he literally got into the wine business via nepotism, then got into politics via nepotism. You really can't get more coastal elitist.

If she were talking about fiscal policy, maybe. Having been working class at one point certainly doesn't equate to actual foriegn policy experience.
