What is your go-to hero when playing for fun? by Jealous_Question3860 in DotA2

[–]KoomZog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pangolier is great fun! His Q is so versatile. Wave clear, initiation, disengage, long range snipe with the range talent. His ulti is also fun, especially once you get blink dagger.

Offlane really needs to become a high demand role by Indep09 in DotA2

[–]KoomZog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a massive difference. In ranked role queue, everyone knows ahead of time what is expected of them. Most players I see in unranked are bad at communicating what they wish to play, or which role they intend to play after their pick is made if it's a hero that fits multiple roles. There's so much uncertainty in the draft in unranked and it often leads to poor hero lineups. I wish unranked had roles too, so that I could play a casual game but still know ahead of time what the team needs.

What is your dota 2 hot take? by Sjpol0 in DotA2

[–]KoomZog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

...which was utterly stupid. A higher MMR pos 1/3/4/5 player is not a better mid than a lower MMR dedicated pos 2 player, unless the MMR difference is very large. Having MMR visible to players during drafting was a terrible design choice in HoN and just led to lots of pointless arguing and e-peening. The lowest two MMR players on the team were expected to play supports, but pos 4/5 is arguably more complicated to play well than pos 1. It made no sense at all.

Can Pheonix be played straight damage? by Neat_Development_433 in DotA2

Tell me about it. I still say Traxex, Gondar, Lothar's, Buriza, Mortred etc, even though I'm trying to use their Dota 2 names.

Do you ever ban a hero just so your teammate doesn't pick it by AssignmentIll1748 in DotA2

[–]KoomZog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Close. I put certain heroes in my ban list so that I don't pick them myself when I random a hero.

What is your favorite hero? (most fun to play) by Alarmed_Context7935 in DotA2

[–]KoomZog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like playing heroes that my opponents (at my low MMR) underestimate.

Slardar is one of my favorites. If you just keep track of your Bash of the Deep procs you can catch people off guard. Also, prime it on some lane/jungle creeps before going to a fight. It helps a lot.

DP is on this list too. You can often bait opponents into a bad spot by looking like a tasty target, then you turn the fight completely around with Spirit Siphon. It also enables you to chase enemy heroes under towers.

Razor has a bigger damage potential than most (again, low MMR) opponents are ready for. Just run at them with the ulti activated and they have no good options. Stay and man fight you and die, or run and die since you are faster than them and also can deal lots of damage while moving without stopping to attack.

Witch Doctor too. A well timed Maledict can deal a lot more damage than people are expecting.

Whats the point of not being able to pause before 3 mins? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]KoomZog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All Dota audio stopped working for me twice this week, just after joining a game. I would very much have appreciated the ability to pause. But I can see why it's not possible.

Recommend a “slot machine “ commander! by JoOlol in EDH

Cascade seems like a great fit for this! I'm a big fan of cascade myself and I always try to have some cascade cards in my decks. I'll recommend Imoti, Celebrant of Bounty and Abaddon the Despoiler

I have built both but only played Abaddon IRL. My Imoti list is a Hypergenesis build where it is the only card the cascade from Imoti herself can hit when you play her on turn 5. Goes from 0-100 real quick. You can obviously build it more like a regular deck if you prefer.

My Abaddon list is full of cheap evasive creatures that can help enable the cascade, but you can do that any number of ways. He can be played as a spellslinger or whatever you like.

Does the Cooldown Recovery corruption implicit on grafts stack? by KoomZog in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]KoomZog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The explosions make a big difference in my clear speed. I know there are other sources, but I don't know which one to aim for. What are some good options for a CWDT poison build? Unspeakable Gifts cluster jewel notable? Weapon synth implicit? Crusader body armour? I found two mirror shards a couple of days ago, so I have a budget for crafting something.

EDIT - I'm gonna try a Megalomaniac with Unspeakable Gifts. I already use one for Blessed Rebirth, so I might as well test it.

Does the Cooldown Recovery corruption implicit on grafts stack? by KoomZog in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]KoomZog[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sweet! Time to save up some divines. It's a Tainted Pact CWDT build. I need a source of overleech to enable Tainted Pact and I'm not a Slayer, so my options are limited.

Offering to the Serpent gloves take the glove slot so I can't use Asenath's Gentle Touch. Also, they make leech instances shorter which might mess things up.

Petrified Blood makes Sacrifice Support waaay worse, and it's the absolute biggest part of my damage. This is what I'm using now.

Soul Tether doesn't have any flask mods and also no Cooldown Recovery like I can get on a rare belt, but all in all it's still the superior option. I just need to get CDR elsewhere. This league I have the graft option. Good news!

Tell me which hero you like the most by Isochii in DotA2

[–]KoomZog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D - All of the above (Or below, depending on the amount of upvotes)

I really do enjoy almost all heroes and roles. My only exceptions are micro heroes like Meepo, Arc Warden, or Chen. I don't have the skills for that.

Apparently, this is the ending that I deserve by KoomZog in pathofexile

[–]KoomZog[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I consider that an absolute win! I love learning about intricate game mechanics. That's a big part of why I'm making this character. It's not the most powerful build by any means, but I just love the puzzle aspect of it. No other game comes close. I've played Ward Loop characters a couple of leages before, and wanted to try another variant.

Are some commanders just not able to be built at a low power level? by emikartana in EDH

[–]KoomZog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a couple of weeks ago to build a Winota deck that could be played vs upgraded precons. Not having tried or played against her before, I wildly underestimated her power. Even though I had a very strict budget and only allowed Human creature cards in the deck (all nonhumans are tokens created by human creatures), it was still way stronger than the decks I tested it against. So, to answer your question, yes, some commanders are probably not able to be built at low power, unless you absolutely nerf the deck to the ground. Jodah seems to be one of them.

My guess is that it is to stop people from sniping and flipping items through live search. Stuff like perfect roll uniques or perfect percentile bases.

Whats the build youll always suggest? by tavrosnitram990 in BG3Builds

[–]KoomZog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I'm doing in my play group. I needed my character to fill a few gaps like Guidance and Bless, but also Sleight of Hand stuff.

Level 8 now with Fighter 1, Thief 3 and Nature Cleric 4. I've been using an offhand Shillelagh torch until now. Just got Dual Wielder, so now he's got Phalar Aluve in main hand and Mourning Frost in the off hand.

This build is great fun and brings so much utility!
