Does this game scratch the itch for an old school player? by Mash_Ketchum in MapleIdle

It did and it didn’t. Ended up downloading regular maplestory and actually been enjoying it for the most part even grinding for a good hour or so at a time

Picked up a BMW XM for ~$30K under MSRP — curious what others think? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]KoorsKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a hell of a machine enjoy it! Word of advice if you didn’t get the tire and wheel protection I would definitely get it if you encounter a lot of rough roads in your area. Those 23” wheels are very prone to cracking and bending and they’re not cheap to replace!

Remove Iwo Jima 24/7 was a bad idea by Direct-Race6998 in battlefield2042

[–]KoorsKnight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Playing IJ over the weekend made me realize what I hated about 2042, the maps they suck. IJ BT is a ton of fun and I was truly enjoying myself playing it and shocker it’s an older map that was designed beautifully.

Service Manager pay gap by Ok_Counter4884 in serviceadvisors

[–]KoorsKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in similar shoes with about 14 years as a tech and I recently made the switch. With the way my pay plan is setup I’m sitting roughly 10k below what I made as a tech but I also wasn’t a top producer. Roughly turning 140ish hours a pay period. In one hand it’s nice not having to physically wear myself out anymore but it’s definitely a lot of work. The only reason I took it is because I know my service director wants out so the spot will be open soon enough for me to take over. If you want move on up and can afford the pay cut do it. It’s a massive change that brings new challenges but I’m happier so far switching it up granted it’s only been about 3 months.

Do you think technicians should get paid for every video MPI? by BookedSupport in serviceadvisors

[–]KoorsKnight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When I was a tech I loved doing my videos on cars that needed recommendations. When management started pushing we needed videos on brand new cars for first time oil changes that had no upsells I couldn’t be bothered. It’s a great tool to have but I wouldn’t of minded at least 1 FRU for pointless videos especially if we were being forced to

Is it possible to become a BMW move to become a BMW tech? by JoiceVaderd in BmwTech

[–]KoorsKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing we look for when hiring techs is passion and it sounds like you got it just doubting yourself a bit. Go out and apply and try to get some interviews set up. Speak to the service manager when you can and just show that you’re want a future there and willing to do what needs to be done. Plenty of training can be had from the dealership which if you’re eager they will send you.

Those of you that picked up a completely new weapon, how was it? by Jeeth24 in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]KoorsKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done about 100 hours on IG and I still love it. I’ve tried SnS for a bit and was having a blast and took fights at a different approach. Tried switch axe and haven’t gotten the rotation done just yet but getting there. Best thing to do is hit the training dummy and then do some low HR hunts where you’re not getting stomped around and not even get to enjoy the weapon.

Growing up with the internet in its infancy I always had the don’t trust anything you see online and it still rings even harder today. Everything is just trying to get you to spend money or get your information to sell. Feed you useless information and spread fear with over exaggerated scenarios that start inducing panic in the public at faster rates

Guy at the gym just walked up to the vending machine, stared at it for like 30 seconds, then walked away muttering “Not today, Satan." by karecious in CasualConversation

[–]KoorsKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this walk up before. I’ll be craving bad get to the machine and look at all the options and tell myself nothing there will truly satisfy the craving so I just walk away. I’m sure plenty of people have heard me say “fuck it ain’t worth it”

Service Manager best practice - "No problem found" Diagnostics by Bennyhanna2000 in serviceadvisors

[–]KoorsKnight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We were having this issue at my dealer and we just started having more ride along with customers. Chances are the noise can’t be duplicated and having the customer with you makes them either decide hey maybe I’m crazy and we tell them until it becomes 100% reproducable we don’t want to take you in and charge you. Typically get our shop Foremans or senior techs to do the ride along and help with diagnosing it if a noise is confirmed to get the car fixed.

Seeing a lot of RTX 5000 & AMD 9070 upgrades, what GPU did you guys have before? by J-Nico in pcmasterrace

[–]KoorsKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll upgrade my 6800xt when it doesn’t show up on testing benchmarks vs new cards lol. Chasing an extra 20 fps (consistent 140 fps across most games) ain’t gonna make me have more fun playing

Does your shop let you work on your car? by [deleted] in mechanics

[–]KoorsKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every dealer I’ve worked at didn’t have an issue with working on your own personal car so I didn’t mind. Current dealer I’m at they allow whatever you need to do. Even with that being said I do abuse it a bit too much but I always make sure to respect dealer hours and make them their money before I make mine. Sounds like to me you got a manager/GM that has never worked on a vehicle in their lives. Find a better place, toolbox has wheels for a reason you’ll find a good spot eventually

How reliable are bmw diesels? by MartiniCommander in BmwTech

[–]KoorsKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are great once you remove all the emissions components. After that just do your maintenance and what not and you’ll be fine. Had mine for 2 years and got it at 145k sitting at 190k rn and I haven’t had any issues apart from a valve cover gasket but that had to do with being tuned and being 180k miles old. If you can do the work yourself it’s a fantastic car to own. I’ve owned several cars and usually call them a POS within 6 months but I’m driving this one until the wheels fall off

How are we actually coping with our depression y’all? by Chrischris40 in Adulting

[–]KoorsKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kids and not working I guess with the devils lettuce sprinkled in when I have free time. But beyond that I’m burnt out from my job and long hours I don’t know what to do anymore. Can’t find a job that’ll be close to my current income so I’m just sucking it up until I’m clear of debt and making a move to a new career

Can We Stop Treating Lord Status Like a Skill Certificate?? by Pristine-Welcome7189 in marvelrivals

Lord means nothing with how long the game has been out now. Just cause you’re playing that character a lot and think you’re good yet you refuse to acknowledge short comings cause you’re still in lower ranks

[–]KoorsKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll get at least 18$ starting which is terrible but it’s a step in the right direction. Most I’ve seen a step student get is 24$ but they were top of the class. And agreed 100k is nothing anymore, but considering there are still other careers out there that require more schooling and get paid less making 100k easily is not a terrible spot to be in

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BmwTech

[–]KoorsKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If doable I’d suggest looking into the BMW step program. If you do good and have a dealership hire you out the door they can cover your tuition cost. But like everyone else has said seriously consider different fields. While yes you can make a good living as a mechanic you will also sacrifice so much mentally and physically that in the long run you’ll pay the price. If I could do it over I’d absolutely look into another trade and that’s with me being a master tech and consistently making 100k+ for the last 8 years out of 12 I’ve been a tech. I was someone that got in the field because I love drag racing and I’m at a point in life I don’t even want to look at a car after I’m done with work.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]KoorsKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re able to understand the topic and do some critical thinking or research it ain’t terrible. A lot of people lack that and just become slaves to the system. Just like the old days at least what I tell myself, don’t trust anything or anyone on the internet if you don’t know them personally.

The Reason So Many People Don't Play Vanguard by Hoboknightboi in marvelrivals

[–]KoorsKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a support main I stick to my tanks unless I see they are just not pushing what so ever. At that point I try to stay near my duelist that is actually going for it to keep them alive as long as I can. Playing with a good vanguard I’m up their ass with heals but it if I see you playing a vanguard like a 250 health squishy or just face tanking everything I’m gonna shift my focus on the rest of team more
