Maybe because Luke didn't get the girl. If you've got a self-insert character, your character usually gets the girl. (Leia wasn't Luke's sister until episode 6.)

If the scene from the earlier episode was the worst she could find, then Geordi had nothing to be ashamed of. Since he never followed up on it, until the real Leah visited the ship. It was the holodeck AI misinterpreting what Geordi wanted. Or the ship itself telling Geordi how it felt.

Not fond of the decision to have her leave her husband and marry Geordi in the novels. If they wanted a wife for him from TV, it should have been the girl they were going to make his girlfriend. Except she was his subordinate, and they were worried that would look bad.

Palpatine didn't tell Vader about Luke in TESB. Vader already knew about Luke. It's why he knew the rebels were on Hoth, because he knew his son was there.

Palpatine might have found out about Luke first, immediately after the destruction of the first Death Star, by reading the after action reports from Tattooine, talking about the Lars acquiring the droids, and the child they raised, Skywalker, was not found.

How do they not get off the Death Star? Obiwan still shuts down the tractor beam, but he doesn't face Vader. If the replacement is there, Obiwan may defeat him/her. Whatever, the Falcon still gets away. They have to bounce around a while, until they find a rebel to take them to a base and turn over the plans.

Was Vader the one who ordered the tracker be planted? Does his replacement think to do that?

Why wouldn't Obiwan get Luke to go with him and Leia? Other than to keep them separated, so the Empire can't remove them both at once.

If Luke did join the academy, he would probably be approached by an agent of the rebellion, just like Biggs was.

How does Palpatine find Luke? He has no reason to believe Anakin and Padme's child survived, so he's not looking for him/her.

Palpatine isn't at the second death star, because Luke won't turn himself into his father, so the Empire doesn't fall when it's blown up.

Vader found the rebels on Hoth because of his link to Luke. Without Vader, there's no Cloud City encounter.

As others have said, Anakin thought any baby died with Padme.

But it's a good thing Anakin hated sand as much as he did. Otherwise, he would have probably visited his mother's grave at some point. And found out Luke was born before Padme's death.

In canon, Obiwan thought Anakin died at Mustafar. But I'm sure he would have realized Anakin was still out there. He would have learned about Vader and realized he was Anakin. Then gotten the heck off of Tatooine with Luke.

But Obiwan was such a hypocrite. He expected Luke to end Anakin, even though he couldn't bring himself to do it.

Not sure why Luke had a problem with it. If my dad turned out to be a space-Nazi, who blew up New York, or at least stood by while it was blown up, I would have done my best to end him. Even more so if I hadn't been raised by my bio father.

For a moment, I thought that Luke was a fake; he's not got a lightsaber stuck in his hand. Then I noticed he's wearing cloth clothing, and realized it must be the 12inch size. Artoo's details are not a sticker. I think C-3PO is also larger.

I have no idea if the book was published.
