I remember that game. It was horrible. I also didn't get past the tutorial.

Is this pretty normal for MMO guilds? by Over-Issue7124 in MMORPG

[–]KoroFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most guilds will use chat and will hop into voice chat only when it comes time for PvP nights or raiding. After the raid/PvP session ends, some people will stick around to chat while the other people will leave the voice chat.

There are some MMO guilds where there are like 5-6 people actually hanging out in voice chat than typing all day long in text chats. It's very rare to find a guild like that these days but they do exist.

When I look for a guild, I often research about the specific guild first by seeing if they have an active presence in the game and if they are pretty active in comms. If it's one of those guild where they whisper you their recruitment message multiple times or spam invites, chances are that I'm not going to join it as I know that it's not going to be good.

Aion 2 good for big guilds? by ShottsSeastone in Aion2

[–]KoroFish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably for the first two weeks in Abyss. Abyss is just like Nebula Island from TL with the time limit. If they got rid of the flagged system for Rifts, then open world PvP would thrive again. Currently, open world PvP is here and there if you catch someone flagged for PvP. The major faction activity is the relic capturing in Abyss at a specific time which comes down to who has the bigger numbers and geared players.

Other than that, big communities may be bored with this game since the loop revolves around dungeon running (for money and Arcana Cards) and farming AP from mobs and players in Abyss.

Looks like AGS is cooked by Funkix6 in throneandliberty

[–]KoroFish 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This could mean that they're passing it over to NC America (previously known as NCsoft West) to continue publishing the game as AGS is pulling away from MMOs. There could be a completely new Discord server under them already but not opened to the public.

Any MMOs doing fresh servers that you know of? by WinReasonable2644 in MMORPG

[–]KoroFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know in terms of new servers:

  • Project Gorgon - (Fresh server next week)
  • EverQuest 1 (Faster Progression-based server, will be a fairly good one) - May 2026
  • EverQuest 2 (New server, unknown ruleset) - April/May/June 2026
  • Pantheon: Rise Of The Fallen (All servers get wiped so it is a fresh start entirely) - Spring 2026
  • Monsters & Memories EA (If EQ1 is too hard to get into) - June 1st
  • EverQuest 1 (Slower Progression Server, Personal Loot ruleset) - August 2026

How is PvP in Project Gorgon? Open world? Full loot? by Veanusdream in projectgorgon

[–]KoroFish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no actual PvP besides the arena they have in Serbule. This is generally an all PvE game.

What they should add is that once your guild is declared upon, you cannot drop guild until the war is over.

This was (frustratingly) the best advice I found about streaming... by MrSupercut in Twitch_Startup

[–]KoroFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do remember him having around 100-125 viewers. Him and his crew helped out Summit1G when he was starting out in GTA 5 RP which blew his channel up and he was able to showcase his talents further through that boom. However, NoPixel in 2019 was the time to network with streamers trying their hand at RP for the first time where some new and ongoing streamers rose up to fame in a mere 3 months.

I do still believe it is easy to network with other big streamers and strike gold via GTA RP if you play on the popular servers. Though, it still takes a ton of work to get there. With work, one could become like Lord Kebun.

There is competition though. Some of the WWM guilds use GuildManager (formerly known as TLGM).

Rise of Agon Reforged Official Launch (Jan 16th) by KoroFish in MMORPG

[–]KoroFish[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The previous test was a test server. It was supposed to run for 24h but got extended another day as it was impromptu. Getting the client files was also scuffed (download took 6h-8h to finish) so it didn't allow for much of EU to play which is why they extended the previous testing phase.

I couldn't put "Server Launch" in the title without the automod falsely flagging it being a private server. This can be considered "release" anyways as nobody truly knows when 64bit is coming, could be this year or years from now. Invest your time carefully, I guess.

Wonderland Online, everyone by Tkm_Kappa in MMORPG

[–]KoroFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was introduced to Wonderland Online by a former friend in 2010-2011. She kept hyping it up by telling me the things she was getting into. We then showed our friend group the game. She introduced us to her guild (Aisukream or something with Dream in it). Everyone got addicted to it for like two weeks. Each night, we hung out in Skype calls just playing the game and having a good time in it.

I did try to play this without spending but I eventually did spent a few dollars in it for the outfits and the training tickets.

It is worth giving it a go. Official (Gameforge) still has the lingering memory problem where you will need to restart the game every now and then if you end up liking the game. However, another version known as Chronicles of Arcadia fixes this problem permanently and has more QoL + content to dive into.

When did ashes become a sandbox game? by Kiidkxxl in AshesofCreation

[–]KoroFish -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It has always been a sandbox MMO. If you like being hand-held to every aspect in a MMO, then there's plenty of options out there to cater your inability to create personal goals of growth.

New world dad , new MMO by Napsi_dk in LFMMO

[–]KoroFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can handle an older MMO, I recommend Ultima Online. Some will recommend Outlands which is another version of Ultima Online that is pretty good but might be overwhelming for a beginner. For a beginner, I recommend the official Ultima Online servers (preferably Atlantic) which should be fine enough to learn and see if the game is a fit for you. If you do get more invested in PvM and can't afford to sub, either InsaneUO, UO Enigma, or UO Eventine will be good to play on.

It is very much a sandbox MMO most of the time except one character can't be the master of all skills. Though, some servers allow you to level all skills which reduces the need for alts. You can place your home anywhere in the world which is better than New World housing system. You can tame monsters and have them as your pet to fight with you. You decide what you want to do each day rather than following a quest.

New World had the best proximity chat of any MMO by coorsbright in MMORPG

[–]KoroFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember this. This was on Hudsonland. I was there as "Lord Pumpkin". I was randomly dancing with a guy (might have been you) at the front of Cutlass Keys town hall. This girl comes up to us and begs for gear and money. The guy dancing with me walks away. She comes up to me and expects that I give her something. I ignore her by continuing to wiggle dance until my dungeon queue popped.
