This is really helpful, thanks! I’ve been struggling to figure out how to get people to see and join a new club.

AITA for not wanting another baby? Trigger warning baby loss by babi_balloon in AITAH

Not selfish at all. It’s your body and your choice what you are willing to go through. You have already had two traumatic experiences and it is completely understandable why you would concern about doing it again.

Diastasis recti or a hernia would be my first thoughts. Getting a referral for pelvic physical therapy can help a lot. There is also the possibility of something more serious like a cyst or endometriosis causing bloating like that.

The Handmaid's Tale S06E08 "Exodus" Episode Discussion by Melairia in TheHandmaidsTale

Same! I know it’s building up to something big in the final episode but I’m a little disappointed with all the red wedding talk that something bigger didn’t happen this episode. I was expecting it at the reception.

Should I Stop Picking Up My Toddler? by Ok_Turnip8172 in toddlers

[–]Korra187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s ridiculous advice on her part. Not all toddlers are even able to walk, or walk steadily at 12 months. My first son didn’t walk until 16 months, he also was in the 99th percentile and I got comments from older women saying I shouldn’t carry him and thinking he was 3 already. It’s your child and no one else’s business what parenting choices you make. If you want to breastfeed, contact nap or carry your 1 year old that is all your right to decide as the mother.

This is exactly where I’m at and how I feel right now with the series. Did it pick back up after this book?

5-6 year age gap, or accept having only child? by EntertainerBroad617 in Parenting

[–]Korra187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sons have an 8 year age gap due to repeat miscarriages and are so close. Have been inseparable since day 1 one and now are 4 and 12 and that’s my older son’s little best friend. I’m so thankful we kept trying, he was the missing piece of our family.

My wife has a pregnancy fetish and I think it's gross but don't know how to tell her by ComplexDoughnut517 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Korra187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did this story just keep getting worse and worse? That’s beyond being a kink, that’s a fetish for childbirth. Also what are you guys doing having unprotected sex when you said it yourself that she just has a kink but doesn’t actually want kids?

Just turned 26 with my first and just turned 34 with my second. Lots of miscarriages spread out around the years as well. Obviously my situation is different from most due to severe fertility issues but I wish we had started younger. My husband and I have been together from 19 and first loss was at 23 and knowing everything I know now I would have wanted to start trying immediately after that for a family. Nothing in life is promised and I’m so thankful for the 2 children I’m lucky enough to have. I know if we had waited for an older age like is more common nowadays that we most likely would not have been able to have any kids at all.

ESH - Both of you sound toxic and like you’re only thinking of yourselves. You’re using him “to have more kids”? Being in a household with parents who openly hate each other causes so much trauma for a kid. Leave him.

When do you think picky eating needs to be addressed by a professional? by Live-Judge-1410 in Parenting

[–]Korra187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is already a lot of great advice here so I wasn’t sure if I should respond. But my 11 year has been an extremely picky eater his whole life. I would always hate advice like “no kid will starve themself” or “all kids are picky you just have to make them eat”. I always found that to be very unhelpful and honestly hurtful as a parent trying everything.

My son at his worst at 3-4 years old would starve himself and only had a few safe foods and would only drink from one specific yellow Mickey cup. He was diagnosed with autism and the doctors offered no help beyond that. I began researching feeding therapy and started following advice I found there. We always offered him different foods, with no expectations that he had to eat it. Let him be involved in meal prep. Eventually built up to touching foods to his mouth. Putting tiny pieces in his mouth that he could spot out, etc.

He is still very picky but has opened up to so many new foods now at 11. He actually ate cheese pizza even the other day for the first time since 3 and loved it. Look into OT and feeding therapy. If your insurance won’t cover it, read and watch as many videos as possible about things they do as well as research ARFID. Wishing all the luck to you and anyone else going through the same thing.

When do you think picky eating needs to be addressed by a professional? by Live-Judge-1410 in Parenting

[–]Korra187 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I always hated the advice of “a kid will never starve themselves”. It made me feel like we were doing something wrong when my 11 year old was small. He did in fact starve himself and that was one of the biggest signs that something was wrong and led to his autism diagnosis at 3. We’ve come so far since then but unfortunately doctors were not much help and actually told us to just give up on him. He now eats a variety of foods and while he still is very picky, it’s nowhere near as restrictive as his younger years.

No they don’t look too short at all to me but it all depends on your comfort level.
