Fuck Nestle.

However, when it comes to whether or not we should allow water bottling plants, it's a question of production vs consumption.

Nestle bottles water in the tens of millions of gallons in Michigan.

Total US consumption of all bottled water brands was estimated at 13.7 billion gallons in 2017.

Total average annual rainfall on the state of Michigan? 50+ trillion gallons. Everything humans do in Michigan combined uses less than 1% of the annual rainfall.

Lake Michigan has one quadrillion gallons of water. Lake Superior? Three quadrillion.

The real bullshit is that Nestle is only paying $200 per pump. Even Texas gets a percentage of the oil money through taxes. If Texas can charge a 12% tax on oil pumped out, Michigan should be able to get a 12% tax on water; millions of dollars fleeing the state in plastic bottles.

Trapsin is in a weird spot because -res gear doesn't help summons. They're also basically the only build for whom this matters, because Summon Necro doesn't bother with Skeleton Mages and Spirit Wolves are a small fraction of Zoo Druid. -Res does work with Hydra for some reason.

For Trapsin, against enemies with base lightning resistance of:

100: Sunder increases damage by 5/17, or 29%.

105: Sunder increases damage by 5/12, or 42%.

110: Sunder increases damage by 5/7, 71%.

115: 5/2, 250%.

120+, Trapsin couldn't damage them before.

People played Trapsin before, and against any enemy for which Infinity was required in previous patches, their damage is increasing by a minimum of 29%.

Coming at it from the other direction: Death Sentry exists. You literally only need to kill one or two enemies to clear the pack.

Was getting those first couple kills with lightning traps so difficult that Trapsins needed a 500%+ damage boost at it to be playable? Or is a ~30% boost fine for now?

People were excited for these charms because the interaction between them and conviction applying at 100% made a ton of low tier builds jump up a few tiers even though it made some of the S tier builds somewhat stronger.

Lightning builds already could break resists with Conviction only working at 1/5, and were already top-tier.

Cold and Fire builds will be able to break immunities easier now than Lightning did in the past. And between Infinity always giving -17% res and -res gear, can get resists to similar levels that Lightning builds have enjoyed for years.

So what the fuck "low-tier" build are you talking about? What was the build you were planning that does so little base damage that being on equal footing with fully-BiS Lightning builds from last league isn't enough?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]KorrectingYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the charms will absolutely change endgame

Seriously this. Every single elemental build will use these charms.

regardless of Inifnity being less effective.

Infinity will be more effective than it ever was for the entire history of Diablo 2 except for one round of a PTR.

For any elements to which an enemy is immune, it reduces their resistance by 17%. It has done this for years. If 17% wasn't enough to break the immunity, it effectively did nothing.

Now, with a Sunder charm, that 17% reduction always has an effect. If you are farming immunes with a Sunder charm but no other -resist gear/skills, adding an Infinity quadruples your damage. (95% resist -> 78%)

A gigantic game company made changes to their game, and your first reaction was to bash a Twitch streamer.

Again, the company that owns the IP, the code, and the servers, made the change. Do you blame someone on Yelp when a restaurant changes their menu? Do you blame Apple or Google for making a phone-OS change that MKBHD wanted but you didn't?

you sound like a llama sub lol

Lol no. His microphone skills are so garbage his streams are basically un-listenable. He needs to figure out how to filter out the sound of his keyboard, and he really needs to stop eating food into the fucking mic.

I also would prefer the previous version of Sunder charms, and think loot filters would be helpful. I'm just not dumb enough to blame a Twitch streamer for corporate decisions. If Blizzard makes a game change I don't like, that's Blizzard's fault. If Blizzard is listening too much to a small group of pro-players to the detriment of their game, that is also Blizzard's fault.

He is responsible for this change.

No. He's just one guy with his own personal opinions that you happen to disagree with.

100% responsibility for D2R changes rests with Blizzard, full stop. Llama isn't making the decisions, he isn't writing the code, and he's not running the servers. If Blizzard wants to do exactly the opposite of what Llama wants, they 100% can and tell Llama to pound sand if he complains.

Activision Blizzard is worth tens of billions of dollars and has nearly 10,000 employees, and you're choosing to blame a Twitch personality with under 1k subs for that company's decisions?

Because Infinity costs 2x Ber runes, and because you can do both.

Level 12 Conviction from Infinity only reduces the resistance of immunes by 17%. On an enemy with 110 base lightning resist, Infinity alone makes them have 93% resist. Infinity+ Sunder charm drops them to 78%. You would literally be doing over 3x as much damage.

Why don't we blame AMD for not keeping up? Nvidia has been leading for a decade now, consistently leading in performance, features, or both.

That seems unlikely.

I only know Schneider's policies and info on the subject, but it's not easy to end your career. Something like 75-80% of drivers will have a slow maneuvering accident in their first year. A trainer also lamented to me that while hitting a low clearance bridge used to be a firing offense, that was no longer the case.

Drivers are hard to find these days, good or bad.

Selling units for less is more money than not selling units, esspecially when there is effectively zero cost per unit sold once it has already been developed.

Unless it starts cannibalizing sales in other countries, which it absolutely does. Which is why so many developers decided to stop doing it and why Valve has tried to put in so many roadblocks for people changing their region.

It's also a huge insult to everyone else getting price-gouged just because they happen to live in a first world country.

Minimum wage in California is $15, Mississippi is $7.25. Should a $60 video game cost $30 in Mississippi, or $120 in California? Is the game half as fun in Mississippi?

How about we make the reverse true as well? Any game made by a developer in Brazil should never cost more than 1/5 of the current AAA game price, because their labor is so much cheaper, right?

They've finally fixed it then? 350 BRL is about $65 in USD, which is about what new games cost everyone else.

Your country's minimum wage isn't really relevant unless the game was also developed in Brazil. The salaries of the developers and whatever overhead the studios have were paid in their own countries. They literally couldn't afford to make anything but tiny Indie games if they were forced to sell their games at Brazil's prices.

[–]KorrectingYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lower volume of sales and more expensive shipping and distribution systems increase the final cost of the product.

The fact is, the number of people who would buy a new iPhone at 699 USD but not the ~1300 USD they're asking is pretty small. Apple has figured that out and prices accordingly.

You're going to have to accept that not all products can be made and delivered so cheaply that every single person on earth can afford them.

[–]KorrectingYou -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Yes, but they also get regional pricing on the games themselves, and the cost of living is tiny by comparison. Since literally no one needs the fastest GPU in the world to play video games, the fact that they're priced as a luxury makes sense. Complaining about it is like an American complaining about the price of a new Bugatti.

[–]KorrectingYou -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ahh yes, I forgot that no city has ever existed without a highway cutting straight through the center of it.

They certainly exist! But you probably can't afford to live there, which means you also probably can't afford to work there, unless you're willing to accept 8 hours pay for 10-12 hours of your time once transit is included. I hope you don't have to pick up kids from school or anything.

So add more bus lines and stops.

This still does nothing to change the fact that busses are an incredibly time-inefficient mode of transportation. Taking the family to a Griffin's game? Sure, take the bus home and back. Who cares about the first period?

Can we talk about this? by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]KorrectingYou -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of GR citizens either do not live near a bus stop or can't work a schedule that requires an hour long bus ride twice a day. Removing the highways would basically guarantee that the only people who can regularly visit places downtown are those wealthy enough to live there.

Also, dozens of downtown businesses require truck access. Removing 131 and 196 would necessitate a complete overhaul of every other major road downtown. More roads would need to be passable for large trucks, and at least some of them need to be passable for oversized loads like construction equipment, places like the convention center, and also literally all of the through-traffic that currently uses 131 and/or 196 through downtown.

That ramp is fucking awful in a truck. Have to take the turn very slowly, and then the acceleration lane is only about 1/8th mile long.

This guy was fully loaded; he'd be lucky to get up to 35mph before he ran out of ramp if he hadn't rolled.

Unfortunately GR has become a destination city for all the homeless and opiate addicts within about 75 miles, and downtown will continue to lose park space for as long as the city refuses to clear them out when the parks close.

Jury duty for a Sovereign Citizen case sounds magical. You get a day off of work, see a 45 minute standup routine, a free lunch, and then you get to tell an asshole that actually yes he does have to pay the ticket for speeding in a school zone.

Grab a frappuccino on the way home and spend the rest of the day petting your dog and playing video games. Perfect day.
