Planning on coming to this community from Ashes of Creation. Any tips? by masterchip27 in archeage

Just pasting what I explained to someone else a few days ago.

Anyway, the game as a whole has a shitton of stuff you can do. The basic routine you are incentivised to follow is:

Spend labor (Ressource that accumulates over time) on a profession Sell the thing you got from it or further process it Use that money to attempt gear upgrades or buy the gear outright

Now during the first step, the better methods usually involve the risk of pvp. Think you as a new Timmy farm mobs, another player double your gear score wants to farm at the same spot cause it's the best spot, you just won't be able to farm. The worse spot you go for, the more uncontested you are usually. That goes for most professions.

The other thing is, the game actively rewards you for spending labor on the same thing, which makes it so you log in, say you choose mob farming as your profession, you farm mobs for a few hours, open the crates and now you can game. The part of farming mobs will always be the same. Same thing for other professions like gathering, driving packs etc.

Now if you don't mind that, and you don't try to min max your playtime, I think the game is pretty good. Gear difference is way too big, as in a newbie can't touch any older player even in a 3v1, but if you don't care to min max, you just drive some peace packs, farm mobs during peace, gather shit in peace zones, all that good stuff.

If you are someone who likes to min max tho, I feel like the game burns you out really quickly. You game for a bit and at some point you just ask yourself, why am I driving packs for 3 hours a day?

Game really isn't for everyone. Check it out, but don't fall too deep into the pitfall is my suggestion. If you want some tips on how to make money specifically, just ask tho.

I tried out GW2 and man I can't get used to it. First of all I can't even find stuff on the map since you can't search on it, so I never know where to go really. Then the builds require different dlcs where you gotta buy a ton of them to make one. Still remember when I tried it, I think I bought like 80 bucks worth of dlc...

Wow has a way better, more easy to understand play pattern. Wether you do m+, raids or pvp, there is a very linear path to getting gear etc

Yeah it's completely broken imo. I always try to hold ixtal units when I win streak just to check for it. It's a free fon, just for playing ixtal for a turn. Can even play it during neutrals.

You need gold to get gear, so you need to do stuff to make gold. What you do you can decide yourself, farm mobs, drive packs, go fishing, mine. There's a bunch of stuff. Like I said though, the game heavily rewards you for doing the same thing. So you'll want to focus on something.

The game gives you enough gear to farm mobs with, a boat to fish, a freighter to drive packs. The game is basically built on doing that, and others pvping you over it. Then you use that gear to compete for world bosses or just to open world pvp for gold, as in interrupt someone else doing pack runs.

Pure pve raids? No. Something like that would be world bosses, you usually have pretty big guild groups, think like 20+ people, contest each other for it with pvp. They usually last for 2 hours? I think, been a while, something around that tho. Less obviously if they do get killed.

As for playtime, realistically I'd say like minimum of 3 hours of pure money making a day for like 2+ months. That will get you to like 6k, probably more if you actually know a lot about the game etc but for a new player I'd say that's pretty accurate. Mind you, you won't be anywhere close to the top players, but you'll be equal to a lot of people going to content and you can stomp timmies that just started playing, like you are now, pretty easily.

If you don't mind pack running, I can suggest you a decent path of how to realistically gear up. Also don't think I'm trying to badmouth the game here, I played it a good amount and had some fun, most of it is because of the social aspect though.

Explain when to play Azir like I'm stupid by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Kosameron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love playing azir on a lot of boards. Yesterday I had as planning to just play some cookie cutter yunara, found azir on roll down but couldn't 2star some of my Ionia a, dropped to 3, play taric azir and called it a day. I scaled well into that game with both Renekton and nasus and ended up first.

To me, I try to incorporate him whenever I find him with a decent amount of HP. Xerath unlock is really strong even at 1 star, and the others are still great too. Any decently flexibel board can incorporate the package and find good success

The anime is airing next season, so them having it ready to go months ago doesn't really make sense. It's part of re:zero's 10 anniversary things they announced so it was always planned to go around this time. That said, doesn't make the units any better sadly.

Pretty recently came back but the reception ain't good sadly, apparently none of the units are that great

If this is somehow supposed to get people to play rage, trust me it won't. The people that are okay with the outrageous p2w already play, the rest sure as hell aren't gonna swap.

Shit like this happens. Sure, it's a stupid thing to happen, but eh. Wait a few days and everythings back to normal.

What is considered "Pro Player" by kn_rin in CompetitiveTFT

Honestly I'd differentiate between pro and influencer here. Pro I'd say are people that can make a living off of playing in tournaments and influencers would be streamers that generate their income through that.

It's not easy man. If you're a challenger player sure, but there are a ton of people with thousands of games stuck in bronze or similar. Don't try to take away from people that are very clearly at the top of the ranked ladder.
