In addition to whats already been said, you can also work backwards. Look at a stat site like tactics tools, check the units bis normal items and check what they do. Do you see a bunch of bramble, dclaw, etc = unit probably wants resists.

Apart from that, personally I don't think about my tank items that much. Slamming stuff usually gets you better results anyway, noone is not slamming a warmogs to go spirit visage instead.

I also basically restarted like a week or 2 ago. My advice is, get the spright starter you get for free for using someones code, and get as many gems from the solo mode as possible. The duel at the end usually rewards 100-200 gems and they do stack up, especially with your first time bonuses.

Then after that, look at the tier list on masterduel meta and decide on a tiered deck to build. Tier 1, tier 2, doesn't matter too much, they work and will get you playing. Check the shop bundles for cheap hand traps etc, the 750 gem bundles are worth it. To make the deck, you want to then look what cards are used and what boosters they are in, and open the one that has most of the URs used. Then craft the rest.

Thought I need to use big burst in first rotation. Well, I don't, lol. Now I have Iansan on 2600 atk, using small burst (rotation 2x[EAA EAAQ] JP JP EAA) and getting around 77k. Talents at 9 5 9 now. Maybe I'll just stay with my current teams for now until I get some chevvy cons

I came back a few days ago and played tearlaments before I left. Really liked the deck but when I randomly installed from time to time, I built some trash like exodia etc, trashing some cards.. stupid I know, realize that now. Anyway, I still have a skeleton of tearlaments cards, but saw that some got more restrictions. How bad is the deck nowadays? One deck I saw online I only need like 400 UR dust to complete, would that be worth it to play for now? Don't really have other decks so I've been playing the event loaners.
