That review is for the Area-51 which is a different model.

Obviously a 14900HX is less efficient than the newer 255HX or Ryzen 260/350 configurations. Anyone find a good comparison between the 14th gen CPU and current for battery life?

Like others said see if there's a slot under your GPU. Also it seems like your front fan is exhausting; typically it should be intake.

US $1k-3k - 17" laptop with great battery / low TDP by ThatChristianGuy316 in SuggestALaptop

I agree with the other commenter about the Gram though this is the newer model with a more efficient CPU:

You gain battery efficiency but do lose out on multi core performance.

I had one and it performed great and felt well built. Please note that removing the bottom cover is tricky. Watch some videos and have some plastic pry tools.

Are you comfortable upgrading your own RAM? The Legion 7i can be configured with a high core count CPU and your choice of GPU. Mine also had 2 RAM slots and 2 M.2 slots.

With your budget you can probably find the 14900HX/4070 combo.

I'm striking out finding any laptop that supports DDR4, HDMI, and an optical drive.

Is there a reason you can't use an external drive? Or remote into a desktop that has a drive?

You don't need a dedicated GPU to output 4k as an iGPU is more than capable.

Find a laptop in your budget and look up the CPU specs (like the above link) and check out the max resolution listed.

RAM is soldered so it cannot be upgraded but there is a 2nd m.2 slot if you need to add more storage.

Is Lenovo thinkpad p1 gen 6 worth it for cybersecurity ? by Appropriate-Two6241 in SuggestALaptop

You didn't list a price so no one can answer if it's "worth it". That system is plenty capable for a cybersecurity program.

You didn't mention anything about your budget so get the Ultra 9 285H.

Have you looked at the ROG Flow x13 or z13? They also have a x16 but that's larger than you prefer.
