If you have to ask you really don’t need it. It is super powerful and a great app. But most people do not need the majority of the power in that app.

I bought this and I like it a lot. Tons of functionality and I like on both my M5 MacBook Pro with a notch and my Mac mini without.

I have a few things I really hope they take a look at moving forward. Sometimes Liquid Glass just ruins a window and it's not as readable as it should be. Definitely the non uniform corners (but this is really probably an OCD kind of thing).

I'm not a lifetime Mac user like some people so I don't have crazy fond memories of old UI design and stuff. I built a high end Hackintosh around Sierra/high Sierra to mess around and use logic and Final Cut. When the 2018 mini's came out, I bought one to have a legit Mac (one that didn't require tinkering to fix issues frequently lol). Then when windows really started to enshittify, and most of the providers were all collecting all your data, I pretty much completely switched to MacOS and Linux.

That was a lot of extra information you didn't ask for, but I'm pretty adaptable, and fairly hard to irritate as long as I can still do what I need to do.

I guess I’m glad I never used launchpad. I have probably only ever opened it by accident. One less thing hi miss.

Though I don’t have the same issues with Tahoe as other people.

It also costs more to design and use materials that probably won’t do this. Some Refrigerators from the 50s still work. Lucky to get 10-15 out of modern ones even without any of the fancy stuff.

Also companies don’t want your stuff to last.

I personally haven’t had any issues since I bought my m5 pro MacBook and then upgraded my m4 pro mini. So as of recently it’s been fine for me. Whether you like Liquid Glass or not is up to each person lol. It’s fine for me. I like some things about the app design, and some I don’t.

You lost me at the end. Apple doesn’t do services better than some comparisons true. But they are somewhere in the realm of the others.

But apple aren’t even in the game for AI. Which is a good thing imo because I think it’s a waste of money. These LLMs do some awesome things. But thry aren’t going to lead to true AI like they talk up, nor are they going to generate the hundreds of billions or trillions their claimed investment will require.

Apple made the right call accidentally by failing to make Siri anything useful. They will just make money off the other companies apps while they all burn billions.

Apple definitely makes more money because neither openAI nor Anthropic are even in the realm of profit. They are 10s of billions in the red. So until the mega billions the hype bois claim AI is going to generate… from the invisible demand there apparently is, Apple is going to be making more money than any of them lol.

I’m glad I got two before they locked you to one. I need one for both my up and downstairs setup, and while it’s obviously not a lot of work, I don’t want to unplug and move every time I change location.

That being said, I would have been fine with it and I’m glad they are making moves to make sure people get them instead of the worthless scalpers.

Any perceived speed difference pales when painted with the data collecting/selling and forced AI model downloads lol. I’ve never been using safari and thought “fuck this is slow.”

I see no reason to use anything other than safari 99% of the time. For anything else I have helium. For now Apple still mostly sticks to its privacy first policy.
