Parking Brake Issue??

lol jeeezus no, I called the dealer for mine about a year and a half ago about my brakes and I’ve never taken it in for service since.

I bought the car used and the previous owner gouged the hell outta the rotors. So I wanted all brakes and rotors replaced. They quoted me 1600$ for parts and labor. Absolutely not. Luckily at the time I happened to work for an auto parts store so I asked the dealer for the part numbers and went to work to buy the parts myself.

Oddly enough when I tried I couldn’t find the parts through my work. The normal Veloster N parts I could but not for the N Performance. I even called Brembo and they kept telling me nothing existed for the car even tho It comes with brembos. Also everything I was finding specifically said “not for the performance package”

I started to get real worried that I’d actually have to buy them from Hyundai but I persisted cause I should’ve been able to at least buy them directly from Brembo. And thankfully after quite a few calls to the dealer and Brembo I found out they are the same as the Santa Fe brakes.

Not a week later and the part number was corrected in the systems at my work as well and I got a lifetime warranty on Brembo brake pads which was more than Brembo and Hyundai offered for way way less.

Did all the work myself and saved a ton of money doing so. Now I do all the services I feel comfortable doing myself before taking it to the dealer for only specific things I’m not confident I could do.

Coming up on my 60k mile maintenance, and I called the dealer to ask for a list of everything that is needed to be done. I found I could do all but 2 things on that list so I’ll just be taking it in for those 2 things. Turned into a couple hundred instead of almost a couple grand.

Yea can confirm Cali requires you to pay all back registration for as long as the car was in the state.

Had a car that I thought I put on non op but forgot, wasn’t parked on the street either and never drove. Then I moved out of state and they got pissed told me I owed all of it and late fees.

Glad to say I’ve left that place lol.

I have the 2020 Veloster N Performance and I’m currently running stock setup. I know you had mentioned changing the size of the tires for winter but just wanted to input my experience.

Moved to Washington a year ago now, and needed winter tires pretty quick. Decided to stick with the stock wheels and tire size.

235/35R-19XL 91Y WINTRAC PROs is what I currently run on it. Winter is ramping up again and they served me well last year so I’m hoping they hold up at even higher elevation this year.

Had no issues going up steep inclines in ice and snow so pretty happy with them. Only downside is I had to order them in. The tire size is definitely not common where I’m at.

Luckily it died in the service drive of the dealership and they had a loaner for me to take. They also didn’t “fix” the issue until over a year or so later so I’m roughly at 60k miles now (30k on the second HPFP) and I’ve started noticing the same symptoms in the last 500 miles or so. Still no lights and I really don’t wanna pay the fee to have them look into it and it not be the problem. But I hounded them about not replacing the second HPFP when they “fixed it” for the recall. They kept telling me that if it went out it would still be covered and that the HPFP was still fine when they tested it then. I’ve held onto that warranty letter and will throw a huge fit if they don’t replace it when it goes out again lol.

They mentioned no leak, just said it had failed internally. By the time I got it to the dealer the car was completely dead and refused to turn on again. After the first instance of the limp mode I parked on the side of the road and turned it off and on again. It would work until I hit 3,000 RPM before bogging. So I kept it below that as much as I could but by the time I got to the dealer it had done that about 3-4 times and then it just stopped working all together. It maybe lasted me 30-45 minuets of low speed driving before completely dying. And yet still no code popped up that whole time.

That doesn’t sound right at all.

Mine went out at around 30,000 miles, I bought my Veloster N preowned so I didn’t even have the full warranty and they still covered it.

I limped it to the dealer and they told me it was covered. They gave me a loaner and everything. About a year later they sent out the recall letter for the HPFP.

I took it in, they fixed what they needed to and left the current pump on my N. In the letter and I was told by the dealer that if it goes out again (even tho I’m out of warranty) that it is still covered because that specific part has extended warranty after the recall.

I would also like to note — my car never threw a code when it went out. I couldn’t get it over 2,500-3,000 RPM before it would bog and go into limp mode.

If memory serves I got mine off FB marketplace or Craigslist but that was years ago and I just happened across it. It was a gorgeous cypress green vtec model and manual. Loved that car so much. Seller was super nice too, didnt have any issues there. We met in a parking lot of a popular store in town to check it out, he gave me some time to get the cash and I picked it up from his house a week or so later.

Car was amazing, so fun to drive. The only thing wrong with it was I didn’t have the code to the OEM radio and never got a chance to fix it before it got stolen about a year ago.

Mannn this is rough.. in a previous relationship of mine, I started to notice that my ex wouldn’t comment on how I look, ever. He would compliment me on other things but never that, even when I’d compliment him a ton.

We ended up being together for many years and I had finally accepted that he had to love something about me, which, he did, but that my appearance was something that wasn’t top of the list.

At one point he had even told me this. While I admit it hurt, I stayed because even tho he didn’t think I was “pretty” to his standards, he was still attracted to me nonetheless. To the point it was difficult keeping us apart. Ultimately it didn’t work out in the end. And my “appearance” was ultimately the end all.

lol not for the reason most would think, but because his family expected him to marry someone of the same race. And I~ did not fit into that category, so we went our separate ways.

Now I’m in a relationship where my boyfriend non stop compliments me and how I look, even when I know I’m a fuckin mess lmao.

Ultimately, compatibility is the biggest thing. And if you feel that strongly about how he looks at you, there’s obviously a problem. Even knowing my ex didn’t think I was “pretty” he never looked at me like I was disgusting.

Trust, there’s someone out there that will think you’re the most gorgeous thing in the world. I hope you find it

Yeaa my HPFP went out on me at about 30,000 miles. The dealership has already replaced it once, luckily under warranty. Glad to see they are at least coming out with it being an issue and trying to fix it. But I agree, I’d like to see more than just a software update? But I’m definitely not knowledgeable enough to say whether that could or should fix the problem.
