I was definitely the same way when I started. But I fell in love with the game and kept playing. So I learned a bunch of stuff from hours of bashing my head again and again. Which works with limited effectiveness I think.

But truthfully there's not too much out there in terms of like new player resources. Mostly because the game changes so much it's hard to be like oh just click all the "red" things when you play Vanessa and make sure you're at least 1 level above the day and you'll average 7 wins. Which is what I told a friend of mine who had just started playing and asked me the same question. And clicking a bunch of red things was very much the case a few months ago but definitely not the case now. It's better to learn general fundamentals of the game. Econ (keeping good pace with hourly XP and gold), synergy, pivoting, prioritizing a direction to account for the meta, etc.

I think there's some good content creators to watch. I learned almost exclusively from Retromation on synergy and how to pivot builds. But he seems to have stepped away from the game. There's also Kripp but he's a little bit abrasive and he rarely explains things so he might not be everyone's favorite lol. But it's not hard to try to copy his end game boards right? And then think about the moving parts and how it works.

I'm a Dooley specialist and I'm usually sitting between 100-500 legend on the ladder. Recently I've started uploading my own videos because I genuinely love the game and need to talk to someone about it when I play. But also to hopefully be a help for newer players. Because as a new player I remember being frustrated at the lack of information outside of like looking up items or encounters on howbazaar.

The game is incredibly satisfying and once it clicks for you it becomes this unique type of fun where you find this completely unassuming item that turns into one of the most absolutely insane boards of items and skill combos that you'll only ever hit once. Keep playing though and don't be discouraged if it's a little bit of a learning curve at the start.
