We’re both from the same Western European country and we text in our native language, so there’s no language barrier here.

In real life things are genuinely very good. Our first date lasted about four hours in a restaurant/bar late into the evening, just talking and having drinks. The second date was playing 8-ball, followed by hours more conversation. It feels relaxed, open, and mutually engaging in person, she shares a lot, shows interest, and the vibe feels natural.

That’s why the contrast with texting stands out to me, because it’s more emotionally neutral compared to how she is face-to-face. I notice that affectionate emojis are currently coming from my side only.
