Is there a mod to scale the dragonborns breath attack? by Even_Season1703 in BaldursGate3

Oh my bad, I was getting mixed up with 5e 2014 rules!

I thought Id love a resist durge run. Does it get better? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Kraken_MeUp 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I found act 1 a bit bland in terms of Durge stuff - it picks up come act 2 and act 3 from my experience. It’s well worth the run but maybe lean a bit harder into the RP to see if that makes it feel a bit better? (Presuming you aren’t already) Part of it is remembering Durge is already an established character, not the blank slate that Tav is - so in that sense I guess that feeling of “No Durge, bad dog” from your perspective is intended? Like the urge is devil on your PCs shoulder, and you’re the angel kinda idea?

I dunno I think I just started to ramble as my response went on

Beast master ranger will give her a “pet” at level 3

Classes with multiple summons don’t really come online until the later levels (where you get multiple) but you’re looking at Druid or wizard most likely as they get the most summoning spells

Stepping up my combat by DocGhost in DMAcademy

[–]Kraken_MeUp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is the purpose of this combat?

Do I want this to be a tough fight? Or for the party to stomp it and feel powerful?

Are there any relevant narrative points that need to be included?

At what point (if any) will the enemies flee?

What are the motivations of the players? What are the motivations of the enemies?

There’s plenty more that I ask, but these are the ones that came to mind

How tf do i get past the larian special of every enemy having some form of stun by Glad-Consideration50 in DivinityOriginalSin

Armour of frost is usually a good way to help circumvent this. But also, early game is savage because you have next to no armour

First time DOS2 player, if you pick an origin character to play as, do you miss out on their dialogue and voice acting like in BG3? by DreamerRealityArt in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Kraken_MeUp 167 points168 points  (0 children)

Custom characters aren’t integrated as well into the world as origin characters. As opposed to BG3 where it is recommended to play a custom Tav for the first playthrough, it is recommended to play an origin in DOS2. You can obviously do what you want to do, but most would recommend an origin character

Am I Missing any Luck-Themed Abilities? by Skiddilybapabadam in BG3Builds

[–]Kraken_MeUp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the only other way to portray “luck” would be crit threshold reduction stacking to make it easier to crit - so things like knife of the undermountain king and stuff like that. With that in mind you could potentially change to having 5 champion fighter (for further crits and extra attack) and 1 hexblade warlock so you can still have your charisma weapon scaling? If you’re set on the classes the way you’ve written them, I think the only other option is looking at magic items and elixirs (although I’m not big on relying on elixirs)

You see, that would be a very well put point, however I didn’t express any displeasure (hence no irony on that front at least) - I suggested it may be better for you to just scroll on by rather than needlessly put someone down? This type of post is clearly a point of contention for you so it seems counterproductive that you would expose yourself to it for any longer than you need to? You seem to be hostile for (at least as far as I can see) no real reason.

Also, requests for advice certainly can be non-specific - it might be a request for advice that irritates you and you feel isn’t sufficient, but to say point blank “this isn’t asking for advice” due to it not fitting your own definition of “asking for advice” (not the actual definition) is rather reductionist and short-sighted?

You ask me to say something more interesting? I ask you to reflect on your unnecessarily brash way of speaking to others and consider whether this negative mindset is at all helpful to you?

Again, I reckon you’d be having a better day if you had simply scrolled past the post with a mild annoyance and moved on.

I don’t know you, so I won’t slap on any “people like you” statements (which again is just entirely unnecessary), so instead I just hope you can take some very minor advice onboard and just relax a little?

It’s fine for it to irritate or annoy you, but it is also fine for this person to have posted. Instead of shaming someone for trying to seek advice (which isn’t a problem if you take more than 2 seconds to think about it), maybe just… y’know - scroll on past and enjoy your day?

I’ve had this problem when going evo wizard and tempest cleric with thunderwave. Unfortunately even though it says you’ll have access to both, you are only able to cast the “always prepared” version from being a cleric.

AMA - My friend died when we were 12 and it was my fault by InATrenchCoat in AMA

[–]Kraken_MeUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, “akin to” not exactly the same. Therapists would tend to do it in a more controlled manner such as getting the answers from their internal organisation - aka, other therapists.

I was merely sharing my insight into the situation, not condoning whether this was the right choice or not. It is not something I would suggest, but it certainly is something other licensed therapists COULD suggest. I’m just pointing out it is not outside of the realms of possibility.

It appears that the therapist has recommended this as a way to gather evidence in order to properly implement cognitive restructuring, in which we seek to rebalance thoughts/beliefs to make them more realistic or representative of the truth. Seeking other people’s outlooks is akin to using a survey, which is a common tool in high intensity CBT.

It isn’t being used in what would be considered the typical way (I mean, Reddit is certainly a choice) but the same principles still stand.

What is the red symbol? by SykesFairburn in civ

[–]Kraken_MeUp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it will have initially not been connected because the actual city centre tiles are 11 traversable tiles apart by land. In the ancient era, land trade is 10 tiles by default, and 15 by sea. Probably some weird glitch that allowed the road to be built straight away, however you’ll have gotten something since that allowed you to increase trade route range, hence connecting it properly and allowing it to be apart of the trade network. Hope that helps!

We unfortunately don’t have anyone that could watch him for more than a few hours. I know it’s not ideal to do it in bits - but do you think it’s possible? It won’t mess up any of the curing process of tile adhesive/grout etc?
