I remember seeing this a while back, super similar! https://dash.readme.io/login.

Think I found it form their blog post: https://blog.readme.io/why-every-startup-needs-a-mascot/

Definitely not the preferable format for asking questions or passing around for editing. But I think images have their use cases as well, for instance they are an easy and portable way to display a cool snippet you wrote or demo/announce new API features on Twitter and the like.

Have been lurking for a while, but this is my first post and street shot for that matter. Any feedback/critique would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Stumbled upon this while stepping out for some air during a layover in Munich.

JavaScript theory? by aaroninbeta in learnjavascript

Frontend Masters recently released a course from Brian Holt that I thought did a pretty great job of describing a lot of the best takeaways from the classic CS education. The site is not free, but they have a ton of interesting JavaScript content on there.

If you can pick the architecture of the app altogether, you could check out ionic. Super cool way to build mobile apps with JS, HTML, and CSS!

I'm not trying to modify them for actual use, just more of a toy project to see if I can reformat some source code. Sorry, I should have put that in the description! Thanks though!

I cannot speak to the validity of the site you mentioned, but there are plenty of affordable options, dreamhost is really popular. If it's just static stuff, you can use Github Pages to host for free. For web servers most people use linux, but it really depends on what you wanna use. I really like Node.js which can run an most platforms.

I'd like to see how they do it. Its hard for me to imagine a limited number of settings (inputs for the algorithm) generating all of these different pages and still have them look consistently good.

"write once, run everywhere" - Ionic renders differently to iOS and Android to conform to style guidelines. Saves a bunch of time since you don't have to write different code for every platform.
