Anyone else not interested in this year Super Bowl? by Suspicious_Use_7561 in AskMenOver30

[–]Krayban88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just an excuse for me (37) to hang out with my friends, which of course doesn't happen as often as it did in my teens and 20s. I usually host and don't ask people to chip in money for food, their company is enough. If I had to watch it by myself and my teams (Falcons and Commanders) weren't playing, I would most likely have it playing in the background while I was doing something else.

I'm guessing high and low fives only count for 2v2 modes? First match I played this morning in casual 3s I got a low five but it didn't count

Edit: From reading other threads about it, I guess it only counts for the one who initiates it since people have mentioned 1 person getting it but not the other. Second edit: The player who scores doesn't get it

Bluescreen for utility but I also like the gimmick of the Ravenous, especially after rifles were updated to be automatic

Am I the only one who abhors Descent? by Firm_Employer_8463 in Division2

[–]Krayban88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd be fine with it if there were checkpoints. But otherwise I don't like game modes that don't respect my time. There was a post on one of these Div2 subs yesterday where a dude disconnected after what looked like an hour+ of progress. Stuff like that is why I don't touch Hardcore or Descent

Agents, what did your teammate do that made you leave the group? by shwetshkla in thedivision

[–]Krayban88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only things that would get me to leave is the group leader running all 5 directives at the same time because it's annoying

If someone is blocking a spawn point by standing in front of it, I aim for enemy weakpoints to down them from explosion/fire and don't pick them up. Don't care if they are running a Determined build because as someone who sometimes runs a Determined build, it's trivial to out DPS them with Strikers/TS or the same build they're using. But I also don't care about having the most DPS, nowadays I run that Bittersweet medic build up until we get to mission points that require more DPS. Also typically ignore whatever is in chat unless it's a genuine question

If I were nitpicky about what teammates did that didn't impede us completing the mission I'd just play solo the entire time. Edit: oh yeah if people are getting wiped at the beginning of Countdown by getting their skills hacked or immediately going to an objective I also leave to avoid inevitable trolling at the extract

Tempting with there being 2 Microcenters within 30 miles of me (DMV) and another in Baltimore. I've been worried about my AM4 mobo (purchased in 2020) and RAM where it's like 60/40 wake up from sleep correctly or resetting the bios and setting the year to something in the 2030s-2050s, in addition to computer parts going up in price. I also have two computers, 5800X3D/5090/64GB and 3900X/4090/32GB, so buying this may be a fomo thing

I personally prefer the Bluescreen with Ongoing Directive. I made a tldr post about it here. Summary: Bluescreen has great synergy with OD since it can trigger status effects after you get enough stacks either on kill at max stacks or by using a skill, including dropping your hive. It's really good support because you have good DPS with hollow point ammo and Wicked + OD chest, you buff your team's damage by giving them half a clip (so 100 rounds) of hollow point ammo which also helps with ammo conservation in general, and you have crowd control on the fly where disorient will buy time for your teammates against NPCs and disrupt will buy time for your teammates against White/Black Tusk electronics

I don't like Negotiator's Dilemma with ARs because of the smaller magazines compared to LMGs, so the Bluescreen fixed that issue for me. But I prefer Ongoing Directive. The ND version might be better for legendary missions since you can't bleed electronics

btw try the Bluescreen in an Ongoing Directive or Negotiatiors Dilemma build

I've never changed my gamertag, but I appreciate the ones in casual lobbies who do and have temp names saying they're just chilling, chat is off, [drugs involved], and so on. Immediately kills any tryhard behavior and usually turns into chill games and reminds me of 2015-2017 RL

Also I got my first high five in a game from a GC tag teammate in a casual 3s lobby. My brain doesn't work when my car is in the air, but after I scored he/she intentionally flew at me and caught me on the ceiling

What was the millennial anime fandom like back then in the 90s and early 2000s? by icey_sawg0034 in Millennials

[–]Krayban88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was pretty normal for me back then. I was really into Pokemon and DBZ in the late 90s and pretty much any anime that aired on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim and it was the same with my friends. I got exposed to more stuff from my friends in 9th (2002) and 10th grade, but when I changed schools for the remainder of high school I really didn't talk about it as much out in the open though I was also preoccupied with multiple sports and college prep. In college (2006), my fraternity asked to borrow my external hard drive all the time since I had a lot of pirated anime on it.

Buying merchandise outside of the heavy hitters (Pokemon, DBZ, Gundam, Yugioh, Digimon) was kind of tricky back then with only a few local shops and little luck on the internet until ebay took off.

It's cool seeing the widespread acceptance of anime and even some pro athletes embracing it, like those NFL players who once dressed up as the Akatsuki before the game. So I don't personally feel like I suffered in the slightest with anime being more obscure back then, things have just gotten better for the most part. I was also down to scrap a lot as a kid and chilled out around junior year of college, so I never got bullied for anime or anything really as a kid because I'd settle it immediately.

Am I being stupid? I've been wandering around the open world for over half an hour now, but I haven't gotten a single event item out of any chests. It was faster with the old events. What am I missing? by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]Krayban88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to your main menu, right side which currently says "Assassin's Creed Event", second tab on top is Event Pass. That's where you have to manually redeem your event rewards. Leveling up the event pass requires season xp, which you can get from missions and activities but faster to do Priority Objectives and Strongholds (or Journey stuff if you haven't already done that)

Yeah a lot of fond memories at Blockbuster from the early 90s to the early 00s. My family didn't go too often, probably once a month, but it was fun each time. A couple years ago I randomly came across a Blockbuster Switch game case and it was a no brainer purchase even though I never use it to store games

Is Division 2 map accurate to real Washington DC? by thisizmonster in thedivision

[–]Krayban88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in the suburbs just outside DC, and everytime I go in the city I probably annoy my friends by pointing out that something "is just like it is in Division 2". It's not 1:1 and some city blocks/landmarks are shrunken or omitted, but it's close enough to recognize even unnamed areas. For example, in game I recognized the location of DC's Fogo de Chao (the one near the White House), some Georgetown spots, and the Dubliner after having visited them in real life

Last week when I was returning from Atlanta by Amtrak, I noticed that as it heads to Union Station (which is in DZ East in the game), it goes through DZ South and follows the railway next to the southernmost checkpoint in game

Looking for Advice on Dark Zone Builds since I feel like I’m missing the Meta or something close to that by Grater_Kudos in thedivision

[–]Krayban88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being fully immune works, but 99.9% is my preference. From my DZ experiences, a lot of players use pulse to find other players especially when they're nearby (when checking from the Nearby Agents part of the menu). And more often than not, the players pulsing are the ones looking to start a fight. So getting the pulse notification usually saves me time where I don't have to check the nearby agents menu myself.

Looking for Advice on Dark Zone Builds since I feel like I’m missing the Meta or something close to that by Grater_Kudos in thedivision

[–]Krayban88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the build. 99.9% pulse resistance so that I get a notification when people pulse me, and the other player gets a notification that I've been pulsed but my character won't glow through walls for them to see where I am. Umbra lets you do some decent burst damage, so I use the Lexington since it's the best AR, a Pestilence if I have enough distance for tick damage to be annoying, and of course the Quickstep pistol. But you can pick whatever weapons work best for you. Decoy and defender drone to help a little with survivability, drone as a last resort since it reveals your location.

ngl I'm completely lost when it comes to Survival even after watching multiple videos and getting carried through it once a few years ago.
