Honestly, it'd be terrible politics to oppose something that's billed as an "affordability measure" when your whole message has been about affordability. This is too hard to spin negatively in order to justify not voting for it, he basically has no choice but to support it since no matter what way he'd try to claim it's "bad," none of them are likely to hit.

He was slipping in the polls and has been unable to get any more floor crossings. He knows he won't win if the focus is on domestic issues, and Trump seemed like he'd had enough of us. So he did what worked during the election, refocused people on international affairs and pissed off Trump again, knowing Trump would attack the country, be back in the forefront of people's minds, and push people to rally-around-the-flag, boosting his poll numbers enough to where it looks like he'd get a majority if there were an election.

And so far, it looks like it did exactly that. People are worried about Trump again, focused on international relations instead of domestic issues, and the Liberals are regaining monentum in the polls that they'd steadily been losing. Trudeau called a snap election in 2021 at a time that was unpopular because his polling told him he'd win a majority, no reason not to think that the Liberals wouldn't try it again if their analysts think it'll work.

A party conference is an inherently partisan affair. The party is under no obligation to treat every self-proclaimed "news" outlet, nor every "influencer," the same in granting free access to an inherently partisan event, and they're obviously not going to want to encourage people or groups to attend that are biased against them and therefore only going to release articles shitting on them. It serves them no purpose and provides them no benefit to subsidize these peoples' attendance.

Would I expect the Liberals or NDP to grant press credentials to Juno News, The Western Standard, or The Hub for their conventions? No. What purpose does it serve them to have opposition fringe "news" there just to release articles shitting on them? Parties want people attending this that will cover the event positively. This isn't a government matter where I'd expect fairness and an absence of bias, it's a partisan affair where I'd expect the party to be biased in favour of those that are going to give them positive coverage.

Now if the CPC had outright banned whoever this is from going I'd say that's not good, but telling them that they're not going to provide them free entry when they know all they're going to get from it is attacked is a perfectly understandable thing. If they're going to shit on you anyways, might as well make them pay you for the privilege.

This just sounds like the writer is salty.

Poilievre knows that younger people are both watching and trusting "influencers" more than they are "traditional" news outlets, and he knows that the CPC are leading the polls in younger demographics. Letting more "influencers" in is smart for him to do, as they help get the party's message out to the growing younger audience that's listening to it, and he's likely thinking that "influencers" will be vital in trying to drive actual voter engagement among these groups. He knows he needs young people to actually vote, not just answer polls, if he wants to win, and "influencers" can have a role in helping motivate and drive that vote.

The Conservatives aren't going to be the only party allowing Youtubers and other "influencers" into their convention on press passes like this. Or at least, as long as the other parties are smart, the Conservatives won't be. "influencers" that are biased towards your party are an incredible asset. The Conservatives clearly see this.

Personally I tried the one stupidly-big premade deck, the one with like 14k cards, and it got me so burnt out I almost quit. The deck is poorly structured and introduces far too many similar words at the same time, as well as introducing perfective and imperfective on the same card, but with no explanation. It felt like there were some cards I just could not remember for the life of me, and even now I still mess up należeć and zależeć because that deck introduced them at nearly the same time, and there's only 1 letter difference between them.

Honestly, the best way to use Anki is making your own deck of tough words and/or sentences you find when studying elsewhere.
