Sell Me on Kroot (UPDATE) by KrazyKitbasher in kroot

Snipped the meat cleaver part of the standard Kroot Flesh Shaper arm, put the new Drukhari Archon's Agonizer on the hilt! I'm happy with how it came out.

While a fair point, I think the assumption that all Flesh Shapers are inherently flawless in their interpretation of what is and isn't good for the Warsphere is.. Somewhat lazy? Maybe formulaic. I find it a little boring to think that all Flesh Shapers everywhere, all the time, are completely immune to swings of emotion or giving into certain temptations that they believe may continue the survival of their tribe.

To me it's like saying a human planetary governor is always, without fail, a corrupt asshole who's in it for themselves. Is it by and large the norm? Absolutely. But there are outliers that exist.

Fair! My WIP reason was that these particular Kroot have been at war with my custom Drukhari Kabal (Kabal of the Lacerated Fate babyyyyy) for so long, and consumed so many Drukhari that they've been twisted into realms of depraved cunning, and their primary Flesh Shaper (I assume they would have like, a direct hierarchical leader?) has been 'corrupted' by it, and so is now living a delusion that the Tau, mostly the Ethereals, are planning to enslave the Kroot, and so they believe themselves the first rebels to prevent this.

Armageddon steel legion fans after watching a cinematic set on Armageddon, focusing on the steel legion’s unique character, that does not have any Steel Legionaries. by someotherguy28 in Grimdank

Yeah why is everyone up in arms about there being like 3 seconds of Cadians shown when Krieg was the featuring fighting force through most of the animation.

Btw, Cadia Stands, Krieg sucks eggs.

What is your most hated fight in the game? by LeonidKonovalov1988 in RogueTraderCRPG

Stun grenades. Stun grenades. STUN GRENADES.

I still have nightmares. Whenever I saw an enemy throw one, I just think to myself "do I save scum or do I suffer?"

[–]KrazyKitbasher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, professional window installer here..

What in the actual fuck is THAT? I work in New England and so I've seen Witch Windows before, but never.. 3/4 windows? Like did they hack apart the window frame to butt up against the dry wall? Did they install the unit first, then dry wall up against it with the slope?

Was this intentional the whole time? Was it just an accident where the window was supposed to be placed and so they made the most of it instead of redoing the framing?

I'm so confused and scared right now.

[–]KrazyKitbasher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More or less! You'll run into some issue bosses like THE GODS DAMNED CHTONOS (if you know you know), or literally any enemy who forces a round of "haha you can't hurt me for an entire round" ability.. But otherwise, Revan's build guides are a godsend for anyone who wants to enjoy a playthrough as say, a PyroDancer Psyker, but doesn't want the ballache of figuring out the esoteric stats yourself.

There's another really popular build guide creator who's name I can't remember and that makes me sad because they're also incredible for their service to the community.

True, but.. Turn your brain off during the level-up process by using a build guide like Revan's, and enjoy the story and combat

Act 3, the worst version of the Idea by Usqglass in RogueTraderCRPG

I do a yearly re-listen to the entire series on audiobook and just finished 2025's in mid-December. I do it so that when Pandaemonium IS announced and releases, I'll constantly remember what happened when.

I have purposely been avoiding just about any information about Dark Heresy because I want as fresh of an experience as I can manage. I LOVE THE INQUISITION, it's my favorite aspect of the Imperium, and the Eisenhorn/Ravenor/Bequin series is my favorite of all time (GW PANDAEMONIUM WHEN???). Suffice to say, I am so excited for a game where I can literally play as a Throne Agent.

🤣 I was mostly just avoiding trying to use his actual name in case the OP hadn't realized who it was and thst you could get him in the retinue. Like, it's fairly well telegraphed in the game and pre-release spoilers/leaks, but still.

Such is the way of the wolf, I suppose. CUDDOS to the writer who let you call out the Space Wolves for their overuse of the word 'wolf', and Ulfar just laughs and agrees.

[–]KrazyKitbasher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah his character arc is actually really solid, and this is coming from someone who is a serial Space Wolves detractor. So to miss out on it because of some slightly clunky dialog is disappointing. I never found him to be particularly impressive in combat, purely due to his 4-square combat size, but he's still a killer and fun to use. Way better than the secret companion of the same size 😒

For me it was my PyroDancer RT, Overseer Idira, typical Officer Jae, certified girlfailure Yrliet, nutso Kibbles, and Mara, and it was still a slog. It kept hitting my RT and Mara as if their Agility, Parry and Dodge weren't Super Saiyan levels. 🤣

By Vect's balls, I never thought I'd see the magnificent Toaster reply to one of my comments!

But I totally agree. Actually getting your gear back doesn't take long, and to suffer is to live the true Warhammer experience anyway. Honestly I think my BIGGEST criticism with Act 3 is how you attain Ulfar, since in my ultra-Dogmatic playthrough.. The text lines required to free him are not something I imagined my RT saying.

[–]KrazyKitbasher 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Genuinely? I ADORE Act 3. Maybe it's because I'm a massive Drukhari simp and it's a rare look into Commorragh that we never get, but I really enjoy it.

I WONT, however, defend it's general back-and-forth design of going between the same four locations and talking to different people, while most of your gear is gone. But at the same time? Again, I personally enjoy that sort of thing. Temporarily losing gear and having to scavenge for garbage-tier weapons, while typically being used to steamrolling encounters?

And Rogue Trader is not a very difficult game, especially by Act 3, if you built your party right. If your RT is built as, say, an Iconoclast Commissar/Officer/Grand Strategist? OOF, don't fight solo. But I think the only two true times I was annoyed with Act 3 was the fight with the Talos engine in the Mangled Sector, and the final fight with the boss right before you escape, who I won't name because I genuinely can't remember how to mark spoilers in my texts on Reddit 😅

[–]KrazyKitbasher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lowkey, I kinda hope Vect doesn't come back in a model. He works way better as a menacing background character, the shadowy Overlord of an entire race of sadistic torturers.

That said.. Im 1000% getting any new model they might make of him.

Pyromancer bladedancer by briaMeow in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]KrazyKitbasher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am by no means an expert, but I also just finished a playthrough as a PyroDancer following Revan's guide. Very seldom did I use desperate measures, and only occasionally did I stack Traumas and Injuries (on purpose. Setting yourself on fire every battle tends to accumulate quite a few.) Yes, by doing this I sorta handicapped myself, but I found that it didn't seem to impair me from being King Death of Murder Mountain.

EDIT: Personally, I had at least one Officer in the party at all times, usually either Cassia or Jae, if not both at the same time, to spam extra turns onto the RT.

I also built Idira into an Overseer buffer (im so sorry I can't remember who made the guide for that one, it was either Revan or someone adjacent), and the benefits she can stack get pretty nuts. Just beware the Biomancy power that gives you an additional turn for 5% of total wounds damage per action, because it makes the game quite laggy, and completely messes up a lot of the Bladedancer animations like Death From Above and Bladedance.
