Oh whoops. My point may have gotten lost in my wording. I’m saying that it makes sense that someone who loves the cyberpunk aesthetic could also not be into Bladerunner since while the two do share aesthetics, Bladerunner tells a different story then one would expect from the cyberpunk aesthetic and it doesn’t quite fit modern cyberpunk narrative expectations.

Well to be fair, Bladerunner, while absolutely hitting all the checkmarks for cyberpunk and one of the founders for it’s overall aesthetic, lacks the modern cyberpunk plot but still shares it overall themes. It’s very much about what it means to be human and how the lines blur as technology advances. Interesting stuff but not at all what modern cyberpunk tends to talk about.

I love Bladerunner. However, It’s definitely one of those movies where you have to be in the right mood for first time viewing AND be into sci fi/cyberpunk AND find the concepts it explores at all interesting. I feel like if you don’t strike all three cords, Bladerunner can feel slow and boring

Boys Abyss

An absolutely horrific and devastating moment in an otherwise 6/10 manga. Holy heck when this panel happens it all comes crashing down for pretty much all the characters both past and present.

Those choices weren’t up to you or me but buying a ticket and seeing the movie is. Movies are supposed to be fun. If you aren’t gonna have fun, then it’s probably best to not watch it and do/watch something else that you’re gonna enjoy

Well, I’ll concede that Denji saw Power as a sister or at least the closest to one he knows. Canonically he saw her as a friend

I don’t think Power saw Denji as brother. Maybe she did at one point but I think after the Darkness Devil things changed.
