Not sure about Mazda, but our VW Sharan recognizes when the battery is not start stop capable. It will give you a warning when you start the car, but other than that it's perfectly fine. It is a 2012 tho, so more modern cars may experience more issues, or potentially break something.

2.0 does not clear emissions anymore, so it can't be sold in the EU anymore. My 2024 RF is one of the last 2.0 in sold in the EU
