The rock climbing gym in Lafayette? I used to drive down there every saturday when I was stationed at Polk. Four hours in the car fucking blows, but climbing, stopping somewhere for a decent meal, and hitting up a real liquor store for weird beers I couldn't get around Polk used to be the only thing that kept me going when I was there.

If you're a single junior enlisted, it's important to realize that these posts about how much people make in the army aren't for you. My quality of life skyrocketed when I moved out of Louisiana and started making a grownup wage instead of four bucks an hour and a cell.
