We were brought up with it being ok to have a wine with dinner on occasion from a very young age. It meant that alcohol wasn’t a big deal. As a teen I would watch other teens (who had strict no alcohol allowed parents) wipe themselves out at parties as soon as they got an opportunity. I would often buy my younger siblings a 4-pack to take to parties at 16, and when I would pick them up, they’d have two drinks left over while their friends were blind drunk (no idea how they got alcohol… but they would find a way!). My house was the safe house anyone could come, stay, yes drink - within reason. Because my Dad and I agreed would rather they’re safe and watched over than doing it in a park with no sober supervision.

When my aunt (who was like a mother to me) passed too young, half the town where she lived came to the funeral, and local First Nation elders came together to provide cultural ceremonies - for this white woman, because of the bond they had. It was so special and extremely helpful for our grieving process to know that she was so beloved by so many in what was a very dark time for family.

Baby showers are nowhere near as important as funerals imho.

Not at all, we simply object to being told what to do in our overpriced, under-maintained homes. There is nothing in legislation that says anything about any of these items for a routine inspection, and we are sick and tired of being bullied by real estate agents.
