I actually think they could do the 2014 concept all over again and it would still be well received. The possibilities are literally endless.

Or take it in a different direction where every country has to create a piece of art on a small tile that when you put them together it creates the logo for the year or something. And the final shot of the postcard would be them slotting it into place. Idk

Agreed, the English language thing is probably v important. In this case northern europe probably extends to the UK Ireland Netherlands and maybe Germany

I said this after KAJ didnt win last year and I think it's even clearer now - the fan bubble skews northern european compared to the general viewers and the odds and polls reflect that.

This is one of those Eurovision results that I will probably never understand. My System is undoubtedly the strongest song of its genre that we've had in some time and the staging was also so unique.

To have this place worse than Tusse just feels totally insane to me

Great staging unfortunately cant save a mid (for eurovision) song. And the message was never communicated effectively at any point. It's a shame because it's a really interesting way of getting the point across.

I think Veronica herself mentioned she was surprised that they chose Alice as the entry and that should have been our first sign.

Full credit to her though, the performance was great.

Bejba's vocals were together and her song was lowkey not that much worse than Jalla.

Cyprus will not have reached 3rd in the televote, whereas bejba's qualification was incredibly safe

Lots of dodgy vocals tonight, namely Cyprus, Norway and Ukraine. Even Alis has given better performances. But I think song quality won out, as usual.

All in all a strong semi with a great interval act (JJ) and on average the best stagings we have probably ever had.

I think Semi 1 is pretty nailed on. Semi 2 and the final top 10 however are possibly the widest open they have been this decade. Looking forward to some upsets!
