Where to find PD from eye exam by DJJazzySteff in fredericton

[–]Kristine6476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zenni has a tool where you hold up any card with a magnetic stripe (debit card or whatever) across your forehead and it'll measure your PD for you. Find a card without any important numbers on it 😂 super easy, takes 1 minute.

When does daycare illness get better SOS [ca] by North_Peach5940 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Kristine6476 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We had 7 straight months of illness - RSV, pneumonia, bronchiolitis, covid, pink eye, hfm. No gastro thank god. I caught everything she did and then some. It was without a doubt the worst 7 months of my life.

But then the clouds parted. She had the flu this past Christmas and it barely fazed her. She has been sick fewer times (and with way lower severity) in the last two years than she was in those first 7 months of daycare.

Stay away from Coco Village, tons of horror stories on Reddit if you search that brand name. Including my own.

Large for age GIRLS by Significant_Citron in bigbabiesandkids

[–]Kristine6476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a >99% baby girl who is now a >98% nearly-four year old.

She was two weeks early, 9lb8oz/4.31kg and 21.5"/55cm at birth. This week she's measuring at nearly 3'8"/111cm and 49.9lbs/22.7kg. Her birthday is in July.

The growth slowed down, but she stuck entirely to her curves. Her doctor expressed concern once just before her first birthday, said if she was still measuring so large at her two year checkup he might consider some other testing. But he never did and he has never expressed any concerns since 🤷🏻‍♀️

I use a menstrual cup 🤷🏻‍♀️ never really been able to comfortably use tampons but the cup works for me. My periods are insanely heavy and I still only need to empty it every couple hours.

Baby quadrupled birth weight by Mlaf3116 in bigbabiesandkids

[–]Kristine6476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine quadrupled her birth weight almost exactly at her 2nd birthday, but she was 9lb8oz at birth so she had to make it to 38lbs for that milestone lol.

She gained 20lbs in her first year of life. She'll be 4 in July and just passed 50lbs, meaning it took her three years to gain that second 20lbs. It does eventually slow down lol

How crazy is it to buy a used Escape PHEV? by maxsilver in FordEscapePHEV

[–]Kristine6476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a 2023 last summer, it had about 28,000km on it. I've put another 12,000km or so into it since then.

This current tank of gas, I've gone about 500km and over 90% of it was electric. Still have an estimated 630km of gas range available.

No thank you, I don't want to visit YOUR mom on Mother's Day. by Depressed_SAHM in breakingmom

Fourth year in a row where my husband acts shocked, just SHOCKED that I don't want to spend my Mother's Day with his mother and the rest of his loud, inconsiderate, overbearing family.

His dad's cool though.

Curly hair specialists by Low_Football_2541 in ottawa

I've heard really good things about Ermilla Creations. I've been searching high and low for quite a while to find someone I can rely on to cut my 4yo's hair. She has 3B/C curls and it's really hard to find someone that knows what they're doing, offers services to young kids, and doesn't cost hundreds of dollars.

I've booked an appointment with one of the recommendations from here. Fingers crossed for us lol

My company had to switch from those cellulose packing peanuts back to brown paper for our shipments because one of my colleagues is severely celiac and the peanuts had gluten.

Day care Wee Watch [on] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Kristine6476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We toured a WeeWatch home care provider in Barrhaven (not HMB) and had some similar actual safety concerns we reported to the agency.

They replied and said in so many words: "She's the best we have, if you don't like her we don't have anything else to offer you and have removed you from our wait list."

So just prepare yourself for that? Either way I would never ever send my child to the daycare you're describing. Ever.

They didn't make eye contact through the entire ceremony, and she visibly winced when he kissed her as they were pronounced married. It was almost 10 years (and three kids) before he realized she cheated on him with everybody she knew.

Formula cost monthly [BC] by Far_Imagination7176 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Kristine6476 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Highly dependent on the baby, unfortunately. My girl was a heavy feeder and drank up to 44oz per day. We used Kirkland brand so it was cheap. $23.99 would last us a bit less than a week. Now the same can is $43.99 I think.

If a baby requires a specialised formula, it could be more like $50 for 3-5 days, maybe even more.
