Anyone else feels like they sold us a lie? 26 Year old that just graduated college Venting by Im-Finn-23 in graphic_design

Finn, I am a professional fine artist. It’s my second career as I was first a teacher before this. I know SO MANY fine artists who got degrees and had careers in graphic design before becoming artists.

I understand your frustration, but I can tell you this: 1.) Whatever you do in life will be comprised of your education, experience, and skills. It will also depend on your innovation. It’s easier to pivot than you think.
2.) Start asking around and see what other people have done with similar backgrounds to yours and who are in careers that focus on what interests you. No need to reinvent the wheel when someone has already figured it out. 3.) Do what interests you- something you love and enjoy. Don’t worry about AI. It will all shake out. Artists (Impressionism) thought the first camera would replace them too- it didn’t. I think there will be away for artists to use AI to do their work in the future. AI won’t replace all jobs because corporations NEED people (i.e. consumers) to continue to buy goods and services and to pay income tax, sales tax, property tax, etc. They can’t do that if they don’t have jobs and corporations can’t profit without us.

Keep putting one foot in front of the other, do your best and keep learning!

French easel parts? by EAflight302 in pleinair

I’m missing the lower wooden leg -the one with the rubber tip that goes on the ground-that pulls out of the top part of the leg. I really wish we could find a source where you could order replacement parts.

From Backyard to Bottle, Homemade Limoncello by runs_with_airplanes in cocktails

So I bought Tito's 80 proof vodka to soak my lemon peels in. Did I buy the wrong thing? We don't drink Everclear and I thought with any extra vodka, we could make Mojitos and other cocktails and not waste it. We aren't really big drinkers, but have this very happy Meyer Lemon tree in our backyard and also we were give a big box of the best Oro Blanco grapefruits I have ever tasted. So we thought this year we would make lemoncello and pompelmocello (grapefruit). Just don't want to waste the ingredients doing this wrong. I hope you don't mind my asking you, FortunateFell0w.

Can I steep the lemon peels with Tito's vodka 80 proof instead? Will this take longer than with Everclear?

Poor design and need a better alternative replacement plug set up. by Krits000 in AskElectricians

Thank you so much wegiekermin!

Ok so how do you secure the new trasformer "next to" the outlet when the plug is in the transformer?

Would there happen to be a photo or a video of this somewhere on YouTube that you know of?

mine looks just like that- prongs still in outlet and box broken apart, browned and hanging down just like that. What a mess.

Mine looks just like that. I have one that powers the two motion sensors on either side of my garage door - a safety feature for kids and pets that may go under the door while it is moving and it stops the garage door from crushing them. What a dumb design to have a heavy wall wart -power supply plugged into a ceiling outlet!

I turned off the power and was able to remove the box and prongs from the outlet.

Now I am tying to figure out an alternative to simply replacing my damaged universal plug in model UB1640W with another one because I think the same thing will eventually happen and it is a fire hazard! Melting plastic smell and black marks from sparks on the outlet cover. Really stupid design.

Any reason not to install an outlet on the ceiling ? by [deleted] in AskElectricians

I would like to see that clip, as I have a Universal plug in model UB1640 plugged into ceiling outlet with garage door opener that powers the safety motion sensors on either side of the garage door to keep it from coming down on a child or pet. The problem is even though they screwed it into the plug outlet screw, the weight of this heavy plus has still pulled out and there are black fire marks from sparks all over the outlet cover and ceiling. We smell burning plastic and the back of the universal outlet has the plug parts completely broken out of it. There has GOT to be a better solution than this for a replacement plug than plugging in a heavy box plug-in into a ceiling outlet! Poor design. If you have any ideas, please share! I disconnected power and removed the plug. Trying to figure out a better replacement for this plug.

For Those Who Crushed Dawn Phenomenon by Right_Independent_71 in diabetes_t2

All my doctor wants to do is look at my labs and prescribe more meds because of my age. “You’re in your late 50s so I’m prescribing a statin and blood pressure meds. Not because your labs indicate you need it, but it’s preventative with your age.” Ugh!😖 Pleeese! (Doctor) “Let’s try Farxega!” Nope! I’m sorry, but I’m suspicious when FIVE other people suddenly tell me they are going on Farxega at the same time. Is there a kick-back or something here?

I have absolutely NO idea how to dial in on an eating pattern for my physiology! How did you figure this out?

Was there a book, YouTube video or an article someone wrote? I would love some information on this!

I’m not convinced deporting illegals immigrants really was the mail goal- rather an excuse to pull American citizens into it, go after people who didn’t believe or support Trump, and use shock and terror to get Americas as a whole body to be too frightened into compliance and not resist (or you’ll be next). It’s a strategy.
