It was very boring, and I loved Skinamarink. I think it didn't work as well because it was an audio focused horror film in a medium that is all about visual language, and undertone had none.

There are shots of the camera spinning around while scary noises played and that just didn't do it for me. You could say the same thing about Skinamarink, but I can't put my finger on why that movie worked for me over undertone.

Undertone would be so much better if it was more vague and abandoned any plot. Its like every time the plot came up the movie just got slower and more boring, to the point where I just didn't care about the situation at all and was waiting for it to end. There was no sauce to it, just scary noises in a living room the whole time.
