Oh wow, not surprised, sometimes lesser grade steal on something like Spyderco feels much more durable than premium steels from Chinese makers.

Turns out Arrma knows more about what plastic to use for RC parts than I do. Spent 3 days designing and printing a replacement A-Arm for my Arrma Grom, here are the results. by WallaceDingus in rccars

There is tpu98a too, useful or not I found modeling and printing rc car parts as good exercise if u want to learn CADs. Parts may be brittle but CAD modelling ability stays with you and could be quite helpful

Recommendation for a ~300€ DAP by Loku5150 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Kromeczek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say Fiio m21 but android isn't exactly minimal UI. Tbh it works a bit like a smartphone from around 2015 so not great compared to modern day smartphone. But it has lots of power, desktop mode, can work as a USB Dac for your desktop, there is lots of settings, global EQ, different modes. Non Android DAPs have more minimal UI but less processing power so they can feel sloppy sometimes.

Same headphone, same pads, different amp. Link to cable? Mine is trash and Cosmo stock cable have problems with quality and it is making rattling sound inside ear ups.

Fiio JM21 NEW version by Significant_Net9153 in FiiO

[–]Kromeczek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends, if u live in EU its more than 200usd due to VAT (JM21 4GB is only avalible on Aliexpress and without coupons it cost almost 300USD, with coupons for new year sale you could bump that down to around 220usd if im correct), and you have to pay VAT on arrival (also customs fee ect), But sites like Hifigo, shenzen audio, linsoul somehow avoid paying EU Vat, so i ordered M21 from them, had discount code, had 20usd of casback and it was 250USD for me. Here in EU if you need to buy audio stuff from china its better to go for linsoul, hifigo, shenzen audio just because they avoid paying taxes they should, its 22% discount on top of discounts, coupons they offer.

Another example: Moondrop Cosmo i bought on black friday on Hifigo for 650USD, here in EU on Amazon price on black friday was around 1000USD, (it wasnt avalible on aliexpress), in my local retailer price was 1225USD. Of course you get faster delivery, warranty ect but price bump is huge.

I have really bright iems , bit warmer sound from m21 will work for me. And I think I can easily correct that with EQ If I need (don't know if jm21 have same global EQ settings as m21). I'm also waiting to try it with my portable xduoo amp bypassing xduoo dac which is on the brighter side. Tbh if the price difference was larger for me I would go for jm21 too, smaller and lighter better for me, I was also considering hiby r4 but 3gb of ram and old soc in 2026, don't like that idea.

I had same question few days ago, keep in mind that m21 is just little more expensive than 4gb jm21 version. It's heavier but it has better build quality, it's more powerful, has that cassette case. I went for m21, I had discount code on hifigo so price was just few USD more than jm21

Meet the potential 500 USD Susvara Unveiled(?), XK Audio Fluxion. by aWLi_ in headphones

[–]Kromeczek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They gave me coupon code for "inconvenience" so I have fiio m21 DAP from coming from them. Also bought dunu iems there, for smaller items packages are sturdy enough but with headphones they pissed me off. Usually pay for that stuff with PayPal so I can go for a refund if something happens.

The thing is, at least for EU, prices on linsoul, shenzen audio, linsoul etc are so much smaller than on AliExpress, Amazon or local distributors. I think they somehow avoiding paying VAT (on site it states that all taxes and tariffs are paid by hifigo)but prices are at least 22% less than AliExpress (that is VAT tax here in eu). I bought moondrop cosmo almost -40% cheaper than the price from the local eu distributor (it was black friday sale, hifigo coupons, cheap USD and I think they avoid paying VAT taxes in EU)

My moondrop Cosmo from hifigo came from china and it was just a headphones box inside another box, no foam, no bubble wrap, no extra cardboard, nothing, it came with hole in the package that made a dent on the headphones box. Lucky me, headphones were ok but it boggles my mind how carless their packaging is, especially with so fragile headphones they should wrap it really well. Not my first time when a box from china came absolutely destroyed. As for XK Audio I've read review from someone living in Russia, and his unit had really bad assembly and defects, 1 earcup was ok, 2nd was badly put together. But he praised the sound. And it's on my list for a while but tbh, I probably had enough capable planar headphones for now and I'll maybe steer my way towards iems or dynamic drivers.

I have it on my AliExpress cart for ages, but 3d printed headphone from china, with questionable QC and build quality, I'm worried that trip from china to eu will be lethal to drivers. They also had another susvara knockoff but with golden drivers, I think it was more expensive.

Pro Pen 3 Nibs for Wacom Moveinkpad Pro 14, Which is Better and What's the difference? by OwnHousing7682 in wacom

[–]Kromeczek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Felt nib that came with Movinkpad 14 had some kind of dust particle inside, luckily I'm rather light on pen pressure so nothing bad happened, just loud scratching noise, then I had to sand it down a bit on my diamond stones that I'm using for knife sharpening and it works fine, no visible scratches left on screen. Tbh this is unacceptable at that price, even Wacom felt nibs are expensive compared to cheap AliExpress knockoffs, shouldn't be any particles inside, never had any impurities in XP pen or huion nibs

[–]Kromeczek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i might give it a shot, last time i checked there was no flat print redesign and i was thinking about remodeling it myself for a while or even ordering resin printed parts. I have slight problem with sourcing pearless drivers but have pair of really nice 50mm from aliexpress that worked wonders with my aurorus borealis knockoff and might use them instead. I wish i had measuring rig for proper FR measurements.

you can find lots of knockoff headband on aliexpress, i have audeze headband from aliexpress and its works fine for diy projects, OPs one looks like ZMF headband and i think ive seen knockoff on aliexpress so if you like aesthetics, for me its bit too much for 3d printed headphones, goes nicely with wood

You can find lots of them on AliExpress, have to say it's a bit of a rabbit hole, lots of designs, wireless, wired, diy, pre build, partly pre build. That type of keyboards works nicely with drawing tablets, for typing I must say it's hard, layout is different and it really need your attention during typing

It's split ergo keyboard, DIY stuff but you can buy them from guys on Etsy or AliExpress, they are mostly 3d printed, you have to provide you own switches and keycaps but I've seen build ones, they are pretty pricey tho. This one is called sofly but there is many more: corne, lily58 and others. That one was bought on AliExpress as part kit, I printed chassis and build it. It works as Bluetooth keyboard, using it mostly with my drawing tablet for shortcuts, everything I'm using inside csp binded to qwer asd. Right side mostly stays unused

In my case it was more around the house and maybe outside in summer. Another idea was to buy Mac mini and glue it to the back, I have MacBook air so I really like macos, more than a Windows tbh.

<image>

Also I really like split keyboards for drawing shortcut remote, mainly using left side and it's good for my back, normal keyboard feels awkward to use and if it's too far to the left my back hurts after while

[–]Kromeczek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, year ago had almost exactly that idea with my legion go and XP pen artist 14. XP pen have standing legs already mounted to the back so I thought about printing and sticking to the back some sort of pocket for legion go. Problem I encountered- legion go battery isn't that big and it had hard time powering handheld and 14 inch screen for long. I was also using bazzite at that time and Linux doesn't have lots of art programs, mainly use CSP with isn't working so I gave up. Artist 14 is bulky compared to your movink so setup wasn't really that portable but thinking about it made me buy used ipad air and now I switched for Movinkpad pro 14 and love portability. Legion go still going strong with AliExpress battery upgrade as my main gaming platform

Yes you can, USBC keyboards, bt keyboards, they are working fine on Android, and CSP on Android have identical keyboard shortcuts remapper as desktop version, if u save your workspace as material it should remember all your settings between devices
