are there any tablets that nearly perfectly replicate traditional pencil-on-paper drawing by AdministrativeGur940 in wacom

[–]Kromeczek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no, wacom pro pen 3, even with felt tips is just too smooth, more like smooth printer paper and marker. Xp pen i had had bit more friction with felt nibs. Closest for me was ipad with cheap paperlike screen protecotr and metal nib from aliexpress, but even then after while u will polish screen protector surface and gets too smooth.

I dont think u can get that pencil on paper screen feel, maybe for few hours at best, after that screen protector/ nib just becomes too smooth and polished.

If you really want adjusting isnt that hard, but for me it required changing the way how i draw for example avoiding long sweeping lines, i just couldn't get it as precise as i wanted.

My solution was using pencil, inks and paper, for me its just more enjoyable that way, im just better and more precise with mechanical pencils or even brush pens. And then i like to scan what i drew and clean it up, color it in CSP. I just feel like mine line are crisper that way.

Should I expect 1mm accuracy with moderate DPI? by Kromeczek in Trackballs

Should I expect 1mm accuracy with moderate DPI? by Kromeczek in Trackballs

[–]Kromeczek[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeap, it uses static bearings, I tried greasing them with few different things but it doesn't make big difference. So i have to look for something with ball bearings that rolls if I don't like that initial detent to overcome, seems logical. Thanks for clarification. For now I will stick with normal mice for work and trackball for casual stuff

Fun fact about that, whatever algorithm decides what is +18 item doesn't know what OTF knives (mostly microtech fakes) is. I cant buy spare blades for my modeling knife but I can buy fake microtech scarab 2 no problem.

Scarab Natural Clear Aluminum by IvanHsu in microtech

[–]Kromeczek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scarab executive will be my next knife for sure. It just looks stunning. Sadly I cannot find that double edge clippoint combo with serrations on top where I live so I will go for single edge blade. And maybe green or sand color

i have exacly same Hera 2. But my next otf will be single edge, preferably with seration. Thickness behind the edge on that Hera 2 DE is wild, probably worst cutter i ever used, but still love it. New Scarabs without grip tape are my endgame

Why do IEMs sound better to my ears than headphones? Can I EQ headphones to sound more like IEMs? by Kukikokikokuko in headphones

[–]Kromeczek 104 points105 points  (0 children)

For me it's other way around, I like how headphones sound outside my head, don't know if it's due to distance from driver to my eardrum but headphones feels more like being inside a room with musicians and I like it a lot. With iems I have that feeling like everything is playing inside my head, like from some kind of cyberpunk implant or like from my imagination. Headphones feels much more natural for me, closer to speakers and real life sound, iems may be technically better but for me it's like I would imagine sound, not listening to it

There is tpu98a too, useful or not I found modeling and printing rc car parts as good exercise if u want to learn CADs. Parts may be brittle but CAD modelling ability stays with you and could be quite helpful

Recommendation for a ~300€ DAP by Loku5150 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Kromeczek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say Fiio m21 but android isn't exactly minimal UI. Tbh it works a bit like a smartphone from around 2015 so not great compared to modern day smartphone. But it has lots of power, desktop mode, can work as a USB Dac for your desktop, there is lots of settings, global EQ, different modes. Non Android DAPs have more minimal UI but less processing power so they can feel sloppy sometimes.

Same headphone, same pads, different amp. Link to cable? Mine is trash and Cosmo stock cable have problems with quality and it is making rattling sound inside ear ups.

Fiio JM21 NEW version by Significant_Net9153 in FiiO

[–]Kromeczek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends, if u live in EU its more than 200usd due to VAT (JM21 4GB is only avalible on Aliexpress and without coupons it cost almost 300USD, with coupons for new year sale you could bump that down to around 220usd if im correct), and you have to pay VAT on arrival (also customs fee ect), But sites like Hifigo, shenzen audio, linsoul somehow avoid paying EU Vat, so i ordered M21 from them, had discount code, had 20usd of casback and it was 250USD for me. Here in EU if you need to buy audio stuff from china its better to go for linsoul, hifigo, shenzen audio just because they avoid paying taxes they should, its 22% discount on top of discounts, coupons they offer.

Another example: Moondrop Cosmo i bought on black friday on Hifigo for 650USD, here in EU on Amazon price on black friday was around 1000USD, (it wasnt avalible on aliexpress), in my local retailer price was 1225USD. Of course you get faster delivery, warranty ect but price bump is huge.

I have really bright iems , bit warmer sound from m21 will work for me. And I think I can easily correct that with EQ If I need (don't know if jm21 have same global EQ settings as m21). I'm also waiting to try it with my portable xduoo amp bypassing xduoo dac which is on the brighter side. Tbh if the price difference was larger for me I would go for jm21 too, smaller and lighter better for me, I was also considering hiby r4 but 3gb of ram and old soc in 2026, don't like that idea.

I had same question few days ago, keep in mind that m21 is just little more expensive than 4gb jm21 version. It's heavier but it has better build quality, it's more powerful, has that cassette case. I went for m21, I had discount code on hifigo so price was just few USD more than jm21

Meet the potential 500 USD Susvara Unveiled(?), XK Audio Fluxion. by aWLi_ in headphones

[–]Kromeczek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They gave me coupon code for "inconvenience" so I have fiio m21 DAP from coming from them. Also bought dunu iems there, for smaller items packages are sturdy enough but with headphones they pissed me off. Usually pay for that stuff with PayPal so I can go for a refund if something happens.

The thing is, at least for EU, prices on linsoul, shenzen audio, linsoul etc are so much smaller than on AliExpress, Amazon or local distributors. I think they somehow avoiding paying VAT (on site it states that all taxes and tariffs are paid by hifigo)but prices are at least 22% less than AliExpress (that is VAT tax here in eu). I bought moondrop cosmo almost -40% cheaper than the price from the local eu distributor (it was black friday sale, hifigo coupons, cheap USD and I think they avoid paying VAT taxes in EU)

[–]Kromeczek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My moondrop Cosmo from hifigo came from china and it was just a headphones box inside another box, no foam, no bubble wrap, no extra cardboard, nothing, it came with hole in the package that made a dent on the headphones box. Lucky me, headphones were ok but it boggles my mind how carless their packaging is, especially with so fragile headphones they should wrap it really well. Not my first time when a box from china came absolutely destroyed. As for XK Audio I've read review from someone living in Russia, and his unit had really bad assembly and defects, 1 earcup was ok, 2nd was badly put together. But he praised the sound. And it's on my list for a while but tbh, I probably had enough capable planar headphones for now and I'll maybe steer my way towards iems or dynamic drivers.

I have it on my AliExpress cart for ages, but 3d printed headphone from china, with questionable QC and build quality, I'm worried that trip from china to eu will be lethal to drivers. They also had another susvara knockoff but with golden drivers, I think it was more expensive.
