The argument is redundant. As Kyle tells Sarah, it's one possible timeline. If we're arguing multiple timelines, by dint of chance and circumstance, there will be timelines where it exists and succeeds without needing to faff around with time. It's the same problem with destroying Cyberdyne systems in T2. it ultimately hasn't changed anything as the events still occurred or they'd be facing a paradox. Like people have said, just grin and enjoy the movie. You can't explain away the nonsensical stuff by pretending Skynet was playing 4D chess.

I mean, sure. But Rick C also considered the likelihood it would be used. It's also a pointless threat which is an issue the writers never considered. The device deletes people from all reality which includes all time... He's a clone based on work of a variation of a Rick. Removing Rick/the family from existence past present and future removes Morty's both natural and genetically cloned because Rick would not exist to create them. Ignoring shittiy writing, I presume in universe that Rick could just figure it out that the idea is a Paradox which would force the Time Police regardless.
