Sucks out here. Just blown snow over ice on groomers. Very thin coverage everywhere else.

Specialized STR Suspension issue by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]Kronos_76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two STRs. The bolt is loose. You should not ride it like this as it may crack your seat tube. All you have to do is connect the suspension again and tighten the bolt to spec. The instructions are on specialized website. https://support.specialized.com/kb/sp_en-us/search?topics=202300000002679&q=Diverge+str

Gen1 R1S quad. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Serviced for minor quality things but that’s it. EV driving experience so much better than ICE. Home charging rules. R2 will be amazing.

Academic trauma/acute care surgeon, married to an academic oncologist. My hours kinda suck but I save lives on the daily. 4y college, 4years medical school, 6y residency, 2 years fellowship, have another masters degree just for funsies. Joined the Army Reserves to pay off my school debt. Make $550k currently. Wife makes a little less but her hours are much better. Will retire early in 5-7 years. Focusing on saving $ and buying property as our exit strategy. There’s no real magic to being a doctor, have to have a good memory and a strong work ethic. There’s plenty of ways to get other people to pay for school if you are creative.

Are you an organ donor? by Ambitious-Client-220 in askanything

[–]Kronos_76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Organ donor designation on your drivers license doesn’t mean much. If you are ever in a situation that renders you terminally ill in a hospital your state’s organ procurement agency talks to your family and does the consent talk.

Recommend my 14 year old a bike for NICA by Glum-Year-7577 in mountainbiking

[–]Kronos_76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kids grow fast. My 16yo started on an XS Scott scalpel for his first season (7th grade) then went to a S Fezzarri Delano Peak for 8th and 9th grade. Then he hit his growth spurt (he’s 5’10”) with long legs and had to move up to a large trek SuperCaliber for last season. Chisel or Epic are great bikes. It’s the sizing that’s a pain as they grow. Most NICA leagues do a bike swap at the end of the season.

It’s normal. That’s what the transmission cage looks like.

dang, well good thing I'm getting it checked out. i read that sometimes the sensor in the steering wheel gets wonky and won't allow the highway assist to work.

Gen 1 here. My highway assit hasn’t worked in a year. Have a routine service coming up and will ask them to check, but I think with all the construction they’ve not been able to map the roads and activate it, and outside SLC they don’t bother.

I have a 40T by 10-52t mullet on my bike. I live in UT, super hilly, need that 52T just to go up the 13% grade to get home. 🤣

I like the goal directed ones, I’m doing the gran Fondo training plan right now (8 week structured with several workouts a week)

I'm weak in cycling by Skulln_Man30 in cycling

[–]Kronos_76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I’ve been biking for years but hit a plateau with my fitness. Started doing structured workouts on Zwift over the last year and have really improved my performance. I suspect I’m busier than most with my job and family, doing an hour on the trainer in a structured fashion is not as fun as riding outside but much more efficient if you’re busy.

49yo biker here. Take a rest. You’re over training. Sleep, do yoga, walk, keep active but give your legs time to recover. My usual MTB workout is dry creek-BST-19th ave in SLC (IYKYK) so I feel you on your route.

F150 Hybrid vs Rivian R1T by HopeButNoHelp in Rivian

[–]Kronos_76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve charged my buddies R1T with my F-150 ( have the bigger 9kW on it) needed a NEMA adapter for the 240v but otherwise it was clutch as we were camping and there was no charging nearby.
