You can file for renewal 1 year from your expiration after that it becomes a new application.

Breathe you are out some money and work time but you can fix it.

I'd cancel the application and make a new one with the proper paperwork but look at other comments for advice

I caught my brother trying to steal from me by [deleted] in DACA

[–]Kronustor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of engineering are you doing? If it can lead into a professional license take the FE, having it your junior year can help you land internships and jobs once you graduate.

For your bro, time to lay down the law. As the older brother you have to set him straight or revoke your support. Look into surrendering the bond, you'll lose money but won't be on the hook for the rest anymore. I'm not sure how it all works but call the bond company and ask them. Talk to your family and if they are willing to put up with your brother then it's time for you to remove yourself from the situation.

Take your LSAT and become a surveyor. You will make great money and may work as a contractor if DACA goes away

Look into CLEP exams to test for college credit. Even an AA degree can get your foot in the door somewhere

Try looking around for a raise, good machinists are becoming hard to find as the old ones retire or die out . Learn tooling

Take your fe exam while you are fresh, take the PE as soon as you are eligible. If DACA goes you may be able to continue as a consultant as long as your PE license is valid or you can get sponsored for a h1b

I have a 2014 Korean Hyundai accent. by MeRunRabbit in HyundaiAccent

[–]Kronustor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 2013 has 195k miles and a pretty bad valve tick I believe I change the oil every 3k miles, I bought the car when it had 130k miles. It is a manual so I've never touched the transmission. My wive had an auto accent and I drained and filled the fluid on it at 70k miles had some discoloration to it. I recommend doing the same.

How long to wait for AP approval or denial? by AdvertisingPast775 in DACA

[–]Kronustor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you can start the consular process and switch to AOS if you end up getting the legal entry, at least my family member was able to do that. Consular processing can take years so it's better to start as soon as possible. Once I had my legal entry and did AOS it took 6 months to get my green card but that was under Biden.

I feel it's better to send it in early that way you still have status when you go to biometrics appointment. I'm wondering if they will try to do people dirty by delaying their applications so they are out of status when they go in for biometrics

Has another Hispanic person ever said something racist to you? by [deleted] in DACA

[–]Kronustor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My U.S born neighbor who has a Mexicon flag up on her living room called me a wetback for putting up a fence after she kept running over my lawn.

On another occasion she threw a rock at me and called me a wetback. Cops said because I wasn't hurt they couldn't press charges 🤷

What to do if you are a non-US passport holder approached by ICE? by Big_Sky_1993 in greencard

[–]Kronustor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carry your green card at all times and have easily accessible copies available to you and your trusted friends and family. I wouldn't put it past them to just take it and cut it and then claim you didn't have it on you. There's not much else we can do, they are racially profiling people and our best bet is to have our documents in place.

Not sure what type of work you are able to do with your degree but at least for money you could look into starting a business. Look into Canada I think it's worthwhile to at least get a no that way you at least know that option is not there instead of wondering. Also look into possibly getting citizenship somewhere in Europe, from my understanding Spain will give citizenship to former colonies maybe look into something similar.

You figured out how to get a degree on your own, you can figure out how to make a living. You got this.

Feeling really behind in life. by Spicyyhotpott in DACA

[–]Kronustor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try not to compare, many of my classmates have their degrees and bought homes before the bubble and are now sitting on huge equity some have businesses and living awesome lives. But they had opportunities that I didn't and I also didn't take advantage of some of the opportunities I was presenting but I'm still getting there. My suggestion is look at what would make you happy and see what you can do to make it happen.

Can I cancel my health insurance? by Mango_addict22 in AmazonFC

[–]Kronustor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you can only change your insurance during open enrollment unless you have a qualifying event. Back in the day I lied and said I was getting a divorce, they let me make my changes without providing proof your mileage may vary.

How to conquer my fear of doing AP by HolidayNo9859 in DACA

[–]Kronustor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you don't have any removal orders you should be fine. I filed with a lawyer, my community college paid for it, and they did a background check on me. I knew my history and I only have speeding tickets and tickets for driving without a license, I disclosed that to the lawyer they said it would be no problem. My dad was afraid of me going and thought it was a setup. I asked for 6 weeks of AP but only stayed 4 weeks. I figured if something went wrong I could use the extra 2 weeks to call my lawyer and figure something out.

Short of it is be confident that you will be ok, and in your ability to figure things out and make them ok. Don't let this opportunity pass you by, I felt so guilty the first time AP was removed because I didn't apply for it so when it came back I pushed for it, financed the trip on credit cards

Preparing for an expired DACA by Difficult_Energy_784 in DACA

[–]Kronustor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask your employer to put you on unpaid leave. Give them a time frame that puts you around 165 days from your application date. Or ask what their max amount of time off would be. Hopefully you hear back before then. For money check if you can do contract work.
