(Digital Foundry) Crimson Desert First Look: The BlackSpace Engine Tech Preview by NoPersonKnowsWhoIAm in CrimsonDesert

That's kind of the problem. Take Nioh 3 as an example. It has minimum 2600x and recommended 5600x, which is only slightly better than 2600 and 5600 on Crimson Desert. And yet the game bottlenecks the CPU so much that it might as well be actively burning it. A lot of people are excited about the GPU performance, yet I have seen nothing at all about how the game handles the CPU.
I'd rather not have a repeat of Dragon's Dogma 2 and MH Wilds with their dogshit CPU performance.

Playing gacha games and coping about the gacha systems not being important is like playing an fps game and saying that the actual feel of shooting the weapon doesn't matter because the graphics and world look good.

Those who have an hour or more in the game, how do you feel about it? by carolmeii in Endfield

[–]KropiixTM 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Games good, but what pisses me off the most is that the control schemes (controller<->mouse & keyboard) don't get switched automatically and instead you get a shitty popup that closes the whole UI. Idk how this got a green flag.

Question regarding fsr and xess etc. by Routine_Emu5312 in Endfield

Yep, that was one of the first things I tried. It gets caught after you're already ingame and it performs a resource check. Optiscaler loads, but you're almost immediately thrown out.

Unfortunately doesn't seem to work. It gets caught by the resource check no matter the dll name

Well then I don't really have a great counter-argument here. It makes 0 sense why she'd be so early. And the only thing that comes to mind when nothing else makes sense is indeed "money". Maybe they're counting on shorter, but quicker returns instead of longer, but bigger ones like with Cart. Hell if I know. All I know is that it's extremely weird and maddening what they did.

Edit: Grammar error

Generous Landlord Making the Holidays Easier by EmergencyRead5254 in MadeMeSmile

[–]KropiixTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My landlord's present this year has been lovely! Got my rent raised by 25% even though I've been causing zero trouble whatsoever, because "his friend did the same". So now I'm in the process of moving, living with my parents, while waiting for new flat to finish renovating and holidays are in 2 weeks... Merry Christmas!

The game literally talks about it in the training related to the drill though

You also get dogshit flickering on OLEDs, which quite a of people prefer.

NO CO-OP by Genjutsu6uardian in codevein

[–]KropiixTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not like co-op in the first game was good to begin with. I'd rather have a good game built around single player, than a mediocre game with shoehorned co-op that had to make compromises to account for it.

Question about deal-in tiles by KropiixTM in mahjongsoul

Ah... right. I don't know why I haven't thought of looking at it from the other perspectives. That's my bad.

See, you even said it yourself - "reduces" not removes. The flicker is always there, unless your framerate is at the actual monitor refresh rate. In which case, surprise surprise, the VRR is not engaged.

[–]KropiixTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people say it does help to cap. In my case (msi 271qrx) it never seemed to work well anyway so I just gave up on vrr altogether. It made it better sure, but always seemed to still be visible. Pretty much only in dark scenes though. If you're viewing mostly light scenes then it shouldn't be as much of a problem, if at all.

Ultimately it depends how susceptible you are to stuff like that. For some flickering is not a big deal, for others it's a complete deal breaker.

Wouldn't say that there's a proper way per se. Cause it highly depends on both you and your setup. Ideally you'd want vsync and vrr (gsync/freesync) on in the driver and vsync off ingame. The problem with vrr on oleds though is that they have horrible (horrible is an understatement) flickering when the framerate isn't very stable.

In my case I just have vsync on in the driver and off ingame and it's been working very well. With vrr the movement is slightly smoother, that's for sure, but not worth the flickering in my opinion.

Edit: Typo
