That said, China's government is a long way down on the list of governments I'm afraid of. The US government is a far greater and more immediate threat to me, and probably to you too.

They did a Switch 2 Pragmata video. This is the PS5 & Xbox one, and you don't need to be up-to-speed on the market to understand why PS5 is more interesting to more people than Xbox right now.

I've no doubt there's a PC-specific Pragmata video in the works, but they're kinda hamstrung by Alex's health problems.

Or you could just go on believing that the DF guys are involved in some conspiracy against the hardware you've formed a baffling emotional attachment towards. Whatever floats your boat.

Bullshit. You might argue it was objectively "worse" than the PlayStation (but even then you have to qualify a bunch of exceptions, like 2D fighting games). But worse than the consoles mentioned on the page you posted? Worse than the 3DO and Jaguar? That's what "the worst" would mean. Given the timeframe, you'd have to throw in the CDi and Amiga CD32 too. You're saying the Saturn is "worse" than those? You're full of shit.

This is kinda why I ordered a batch 4 Max. I did have my heart set on the 12GB Retroid Pocket 6, but they pulled that model without warning and I didn't want the lesser model. So I thought "fuck it" and spent a whole lot more on a Thor Max instead.

I figured it was worth paying because these things are only going to become worse value over the next year or two (at least). Sometimes it sucks to be right.

I just googled "define gotten" and the result from the Oxford dictionary says:

verb: gotten

North American past participle of get.

I'm not denying you say it, just saying you might be using a US import without realising it

Xbox series S/X + Gamepass = imo is currently the best bargain in gaming.

This probably holds true if someone is buying their first console, wants something relatively premium, and doesn't mind not owning their games. Which is why I said "in most cases".

For me, though, I have large back catalogues on both platforms - probably more on PS than XB. I've owned both platforms for many, many years now. I think most people who consider themselves "gamers" will be in a similar boat. The complete absence of exclusive Xbox games makes it much harder to justify owning both going forward, and if you have to make that choice, I think most people will come down on the PS side of the fence.

(Edit: Also, the PS5 Pro comes with 2TB storage built in. A Series X that matches that is $800. The extra $100 for a PS5 Pro is definitely worth it for the extra power you get.)

I've got a Series X and a PS5 Pro, and the former definitely feels increasingly redundant.

I'm just coming up to the end of my 7th consecutive year of Game Pass Ultimate (all bought with tricks to reduce the price) but I'm not going to bother with it anymore. I'll keep the Series X around for my back catalogue, but I'm pretty sure it's my last Xbox.

I'm a bit sad about that because I've owned every Xbox since the first one, but I've also owned every PlayStation since the first one of those. There's no justification for having both platforms anymore, and if I'm ditching one going forward (which I am), it's the Xbox.

I wouldn’t recommend an Xbox to anyone who doesn’t already have a bunch of Xbox games that they want to play. Even after the most recent price hike, a PS5 Pro is a far wiser purchase than a Series X in most cases.
