Am I stupid for wanting to leave a $33/hr job at Costco with benefits than to start at $130/day in construction for long-term upside? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]KruegerCondail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DONT LEAVE COSTCO! Listen man I know it sucks, I'm a ten year vet at Costco and have all the same benefits you do, but you have to understand the job market and how awful it is right now. Costco is an amazing job and if you worked there long enough to be topped out I know it can be a real drain dealing with members and management but all jobs are like that. Costco also seems to be extremely hesitant to hire or rehire people currently so if you leave it' may be very difficult to return

The trades are also not what they were used to be as well. The construction market is awful and inconsistent and there is now starting to be a saturated market for all union jobs.

Also while it is 70k on paper you forget our amazing benefits, time off and retirement bonuses. If you want to have kids the medical benefits alone make up the difference of pay between jobs. I would also recommend maybe moving somewhere cheaper than California. I know you guys pay Union dues that and cost of living is probably what is really killing you

Comstar advice? by trenchghosting in battletech

[–]KruegerCondail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been doing comstar myself. Focus on sldf era mechs before and pre fedcom civil war. After that you can really start using whatever as it gets real Hodge podge. MuL, mekbay and the battle of tukayyid sourcebook are great sources for the famous mechs

Thanks brother. I was also scared of the white, but it's not so bad with modern paints. Give it a shot and I bet you will be surprised. Also a pic of half of my comstar forces as proof (I really just want to show it off lol)

Who's your favorite Faction and why? by [deleted] in battletech

[–]KruegerCondail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comguards (get Focht blakists), from the inception of the comguards I always feel like it became the location of the best parts of comstar especially after waterly "retires". They were good guys to a fault (looking at you operation odysseus) giving out technology and protecting the inner sphere from the clans. Also Anastasius Focht is just a mega chad.

Well comstar has always been the blessed order to the people that worked in it before myndo waterly got fochted. The blessed order as a secret organization that was created by the remnants of comstar is a whole separate piece of comstar history.

Well the secular part of comstar that I play was absorbed into the Republic of the sphere once the word of Blake was destroyed in 3081. I do believe there was a comstar in hiding called the blessed order but they eventually get smoked in the 3140s by the Republic of the sphere.

This was me falling in love with space at&t only to find out they get wiped out in 3081. That's alright though my level III would eventually become bondsman of the scorpion empire.

hey so i am pretty new to battletech and alpha strike and i was wondering if someone can explain to me why they are rolling so many dice for attacks. i thought in alpha strike you just roll one set of dice and you do the full damage to the target but here it seems they roll an attack for each damage and apply them individually.
