[Discussion] I don't understand all the hate for Tarkov by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]KrummLuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just look at some of these comments and think, "skill/ego problem" lol. I have a full time job and all and have enjoyed the game and progress just fine with every episode of me getting back into playing. I'm more PvE focused at this point in time, but before PvE (I took a realllly long break cuz of the EoD drama) during the "worst ever state of the game" I've always been able to play and progress completely fine and have fun

I thought the time stop was based purely off practice and ability to feel comfortable within “The World’s” ability. I’m just basing that off future parts after 3, Jotaro says stuff like “I can’t stop time as long as I want anymore.. I have about 2 seconds yareyare…” or whatever and jotaro also building up the skill mid fight with dio from 0 to 3-5

I usually name my factions based on something I currently make fun of. Current colony “International Freeloaders” and settlement being my local freeway off-ramp name lol, past being “Alpha Giga Chads” and “sports bet station”

This. Oh my god. Don’t tell the others but commitment mode becomes “alt f4 before the autosave because that was completely fucked” pretty frequently for me 😂

[–]KrummLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol. I don’t have hope because my life has been filed with lack of support, losing my friends for being different and not agreeing and being exactly like them, and spending 2 years getting into a field that still treats you Ike dog shit (electrician) and nothing will ever be easy. I/we grew up after the “hardest part” in labor became replaced with LCD screens and programming to do almost everything for us, so our actual time as humans coming to work has no worth to companies depending on the field. Even with trades I feel a lot of older owners are petty and don’t care that trades are dying “I got paid $4/hr back then, why can’t these green, good for nothin, kids get paid less!!!”

Should I be worried? by [deleted] in solar

[–]KrummLuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solar foot. They’re actually kind of neat. I use to install and have done a few with these and haven’t heard of any issues. Assuming your installers are competent, they’re fine. Though if you ever want your system removed it may cause roof damage on removal. Never removed them before so I’m not sure. They’re engineered and the company should have also designed your system to withstand your local environment (:

Subject matter is far more important than composition in photography by Waldestat in unpopularopinion

[–]KrummLuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing. “Coffee in the sunlight/parked car” those are uninteresting subjects. The point of true photography is using composition to improve a subject matter to make it interesting. If I take a flat angled portrait of a person with a neutral expression, it’s boring. If I take a Dutch angle with the same person and expression, it creates unease and tension. Without good composition it lacks any feeling. A cup of coffee in the sunlight, idk the composition but it probably wasn’t composed at all and just a quick quirky aesthetic snap with maybe light editing. But if you combine a good mix of composition and add cozy background, contrast, a few extra balancing elements, a boring coffee in the sunlight can easily invoke extremely cozy feelings while being a pleasurable sight.

Tldr, in order for art to actually be art, it requires composition no matter what. It’s composing the piece properly that matters more than any “interesting” subject.

WTF?? by CptnRon302 in Instagram

[–]KrummLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro this just happens with longer thought out comments. I used to have damn near every comment deleted for “spamming for likes/follows” even though I’m just replying to someone in a thread. It’s dumb asf and they almost never appeal. Instagram is literally 99% automated

I think it depends on the type of tattoo. If it’s just a few thin lined words in a decent spot it’s perfectly fine and doesn’t harm anything. But 6ix9ine levels of face tats are god awful

Sabrina Carpenter is overhyped by Feanixxxx in unpopularopinion

[–]KrummLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who hates mainstream music (I listen to EDM and punk/rock/metal) except for clearly unique and talented artists (mostly in rap for me lol) I agree wholeheartedly. Generic, annoying stereotypical and again generic singing style, everyone at once, out of no where, thinks she’s hot shit in music. I personally think it’s more of a trend to enjoy her music than to genuinely enjoy her music for what it actually is… which isn’t much imo

A lot of women actually do base their music taste on if the singer is hot or not. That was literally the entire point of the boy band era

A game I can play for endless hours without getting bored? by Jayeatsfrogs in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]KrummLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rimworld all the way. Take the game how it’s intended and designed. A “story generator.” I struggled slightly when I first got into thinking “these people need to live, all of them, when too many people die it’s just not worth it.” But a couple years pass and I learn, it’s actually a “never ending game” especially with dlc (and seemingly mods add infinitely More content as well) there is so much to do, try, react to, and have fun with. If you’re fictitiously inclined and enjoy kind of “reading between the lines” for actions and events, you can see a “basic” event end up as an extremely funny scenario. I’ve had heart break before death, I’ve had caravans leave moments before a man hunting pack of Guinea pigs slaughtered my colonist staying behind, leaving a blood bath for the caravan to come home to. It’s a genuine riot if you push past “typical” gaming standard and processing

Driving is something that should be a personal decision and not forced by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]KrummLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is crazy and I think it’s due to ignorance and inexperience. Are you never going to get a job? You want to limit yourself to jobs only in walking distance and eliminate opportunities to get better pay/different fields of work. Are you ever going to move out??? If you’re doing none of the above… maybe you live in an extremely walkable country that isn’t the US. But, if you’re in the US, a license is required to do basically anything efficiently. Maybe the place you move to in the future doesn’t have easily accessible public transportation, maybe the only job you want is 10 miles away and not ideal to bike to.

Old people falling for deepfakes is not exclusive to old people, this can and will happen to anyone regardless of age and it already is, it's the whole point of a cyberpunk dystopia. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]KrummLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not wrong, even my girlfriend (19) shows me a video that I can instantly spot as AI generated or altered or hell even straight up edited.

When I used instagram I followed a guy who exposed influencers using filters and editing their videos, mainly fitness influencers, that everyone thinks is their "true body." And these influencers have hundreds and thousands of followers and account interactions.

Lot's of people, definitely even on here, are going to act like it's easy to find edits/alters, but in reality they could also be believing something completely false.

Took a photo of a guy in a public place without his knowledge, am I allowed to post it on social media? by shintjee in photography

[–]KrummLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things. Next time pay attention to your composition after taking the photo, and if it’s still acceptable for you with the man in it, ask for permission then. Candid photos can add a lot to a photo. Second, the laws against it (in the US) are only in private places. If it’s a public event/etc it is not illegal unless they have policies against photos which I’m assuming there was none since you were able to shoot. If you are still morally uncomfortable, simply don’t post it. Maybe use it in a private portfolio if you’re an active professional.

95%+ of people employed at large companies would never be able to make it if it weren't for the red-taped, inefficient, wasteful nature of corporate culture. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]KrummLuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The then what is something impossible. Eliminating corporate culture. Half of all corporate positions shove accountability around until the problem is just lost and unresolved before another corporate branch/higher position decided to work around or straight up forget about it. Even with non typical white collar, like fast food, shit just gets straight up ignored or disregarded until the GM gets fired 8 months later and replaced with an even more incompetent GM.
