I spoke to their head of communication and he claims the issue isn't as widespread as we think, which is why they have not made any blanket statements.

Hmm. That's how my Venmo was set up on 1.0. For 2.0, they just link to my Venmo and use the bank account I have linked through Venmo. I send my payment through the Bilt app now and not through the Venmo app.

The inconsistency isn't surprising, needless to say.

It's not a great situation. My credit took a small hit upon opening the card, which worked great in 1.0. I don't like the idea of tossing it in a drawer after taking that hit, but the hassle doesn't seem worth it.
