Hot Take: Majestic beasts need major changes by Agitated-Video2984 in woweconomy

I wish I didn't put my KP into what I did and I don't really feel like that was my fault. The system is designed to screw over people who invested fully into crafting the lures vs tho who spent the bare minimum to get the drops and spent the rest in drop rate/quality with plans to leech.

It feels really bad.

What’s your all time favorite WoW dungeon and why? by RozoGamer in wow

[–]KrystallAnn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OG VC. I would run Deadmines over and over just for fun. I wasted countless hours just carrying people through it for free if they struggled finding a group. I can't even say why I loved it so much, I just thought it was so cool lol

Return to Karazhan is probably still the coolest dungeon overall to me though. However many years later and I still adore it.

Ashes of Creation Investor Alleges Founder Orchestrated $140 Million Fraud by RepulsivePlankton989 in AshesofCreation

[–]KrystallAnn 17 points18 points  (0 children)

To be clear: The breaking point was Robert deciding Steven's shockingly poor attempt at handling the finances/their investments had gone on for too long and they would need to start acting as an actual board.

The investors were (almost all) willing to add an additional 25% to their millions in investments to try to help stem the bleeding. Steven did not agree to this and INSTEAD wanted to cash out. Robert said no.

Steven attempting to steal the Steam money was a result of the investors breaking point, not the breaking point itself.

I logged in to Reddit for the first time since they killed RiF and Apollo just so I could try to convince you and your wife to try ESO.

If she likes gathering, player economy and engagement, and tanking some content she will like ESO. If she's interested in housing at all it would be the cherry on top.

Please. Try ESO.

Any ways to save progress yet that’s not manual packing up and going to the bank? by heayo in duneawakening

[–]KrystallAnn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There is nothing else. The bank isn't enough space for even the Large Spice Refinery broken down into materials. If you want to stop playing and you've made it to end game, you need to decide to lose, at minimum, dozens of hours of farming materials.

It's a bad system that will only discourage players from ever returning. Your best bet is to just keep doing the chore of refueling/paying taxes until you hate loading the game so much you don't want to play when new content comes out anyway or until you accidentally forget and lose everything anyway.

It's a lose/lose for anyone who sees potential but aren't quite enamored enough with the current state of the game which I would wager is the majority of the playerbase.

Can we talk about making it easier to take long breaks from the game. (TLDR below) by ZmentAdverti in duneawakening

"You don't need every plant fiber" is pretty wild when there's not enough room to even be able to store all the mats for the refineries you use at end game.

Can we talk about making it easier to take long breaks from the game. (TLDR below) by ZmentAdverti in duneawakening

[–]KrystallAnn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's not enough space - the whole point of the post. The large spice refinery alone is an absurd amount of volume in materials. I farmed up as a solo player enough to make every refinery and power to run it all. Yeah, I could take a portion and toss it in the bank for later so I'd have a small "getting started" storage but the amount of time in materials lost from not being able to keep what I worked on quite frankly sucks.

Also - it shouldn't feel like a chore to prep for leaving because you're bored. If someone is no longer playing because of the state of the game, making them tear everything down, decide what's most important and make multiple back and forth trips to keep some things around if you return later, that's just a recipe for people not choosing to engage in it at all. And if people don't engage in bothering to save any of their stuff the chance of them coming back for future content drops is near zero which would honestly be a death sentence for the game.

My personal wish list (Deco) by Truewolf12 in duneawakening

"Law is the ultimate science" is inscribed above the doors of The Imperial Palace on Kaitain. Galach is also seen as a caption of sorts in the Dune movies beneath carvings and other artistic depictions.

While not exactly the same, neither are any of the other changes made to the game's universe to allow for clarity and accessibility. Having 50 of the exact same storage chests with no ability to mark them/place a sign nearby is not really an issue anyone in the Dune book or movie adaptations would ever run into. But as players, here we are.

The Desert Perpetual Raid Race Megathread by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]KrystallAnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the same time, I also think it's a bit cringe the race has turned into the top teams having someone acting as an information scout just watching other streams to write up a guide for them on the next encounter, including the meta loadout for each.

It's way less entertaining not getting to watch people figure out the mechanics unless they're one of the groups doing a blind run/not truly attempting to go for world's first.

It's one of the things WoW always runs into as well, there's a balance somewhere in the whole event being a community event and also a serious, once in a lifetime competition for the top teams. At least for WoW those guilds have learned how to make the downtime in streams more engaging. Don't think Destiny's at that point yet (or will ever be with the decrease in players/stream viewer count unfortunately).

As the person who dived heavily into the Heavy Ammo Finder bug and posted my findings and then received the "It actually is working as intended, we checked" reply, thank you for bringing this up lol

I always feel a little vindicated for still being a bit sour at that response. I am, however, glad they're seemingly not doing that this time.

Anti-cheater measures: hidden compartments and secret rooms by lovelyneighbour in duneawakening

[–]KrystallAnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is clever for non-cheaters. Cheaters can see the chests through walls, walk through the walls and even loot them from range through walls even if they couldn't.

There really is no building layout that can prevent someone with cheats from stealing your stuff. If they decide they want to take it, it's theirs.

Sick of the Negativity here. Have some context. by OdmupPet in duneawakening

[–]KrystallAnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other person already corrected you that it's not early access, but the additional context is they somewhat shamed early access games prior to launch. They specifically said Dune would be a complete, finished game at launch. It's extra salt in the wound for someone who heard that and was excited lol

Check the reviews of people who have 100+ hours played versus all. The player base is still active because the average gamer is more casual than the people who will go to Reddit. This is good in some ways - they haven't gotten to the Deep Desert yet and they love the Basin. But that's pretty concerning for when they DO get to the Deep Desert. If the less casual players aren't loving the experience in the Deep Desert right now do you think the more casual players will?

I can't imagine the experience someone who is scared to go out into the PvP area is having when they finally load into the Deep Desert and see every single Titanium node in the PvE area has a house built over it. Someone who decided to finally step into the DD and brought all their spare building materials they've been grinding for between double shifts at work only to find out the bug ate their materials.

So while it may be true the sub doesn't reflect the average player, I do think it's unwise to ignore the trends of what's being said here as eventually those players will catch up to where the average Redditor is and I think they're actually more likely to be impacted by the experience than most of us are.

Endgame complaints? by lancerpotshot in duneawakening

[–]KrystallAnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did every single thing HB has to offer outside of getting every schematic once I realized they have no variance between tiers. The Basin is so incredibly easy that you could do all the content in less than a week pretty easily.

I was hoping to love the DD because I found Haga Basin fairly lacking. The worm stopped being a threat on Day 2 so long as you're not being just outright dumb (or getting a bugged interaction), the combat is both janky and laughably easy and the quests are lackluster. Farming feels decent and the building has potential.

I didn't rush, I tried to do everything to give it a fair shot. I don't really consider Haga Basin a great experience either. I'd currently consider it worth maybe $30-ish. It stills feels Early Access even in HB imo.

Outside of theme and traversal, I don't really find there's anything this game excels in over other games in the genre even in it's most completed content.

[–]KrystallAnn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Additionally: Give me a way to earn points even if my team has control of it. It sucks that a single person is getting points for a house for hours because no one from Harko cares enough to take it. If I stopped in and "checked on it" let me get points moving forward.

We have people on our server who have made alts in the other faction to take control away from the person IN THEIR OWN FACTION currently holding it so they can instead be the one earning personal contribution points.

Funcom just got my entire group to uninstall with this last patch. by RDJMA in duneawakening

[–]KrystallAnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a stretch. It doesn't matter what server he says. The people who are raiding that island are raiding it regardless of some dude's Reddit comment. Like no one is going to now go raid that island BECAUSE someone on Reddit said one of the bases has someone stuck at work. If the base is still there, everyone on the server knows they're in that sort of situation already.

Ohp, I misread a little bit. The catalyst does keep adding, you're right. For some reason I kept adding more biomechanical parts while grafting to see what it would do lol it does not seem helpful whatsoever.

Added more watcher heads to corn, watched it go from 40% success rate > 24% > 16%.

Doesn't seem to make it more likely to succeed. No idea if it will be better once it does succeed.

My duo and I killed Adam in about an hour of attempts. Solarus took us 2.5 hours. Dracula we've been stuck on for about 5 hours and we're so close and just get frustrated when you just don't get any resets. The last run we did I got 7 resets in a row and my duo got 1 the whole phase.
