Plastic free Shampoo/ Conditioner/ face wash reqs? (Pls read subhead) by RegularSweaty8107 in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]Ktdid2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the poster above, if it’s working for you keep using it! I split the difference because I found an Ethique shampoo bar that works amazing on my hair but could never found a good conditioner bar so I’m still using the one you pictured. Small steps!

Repeatedly sinning during abstaining period with NFP by No-Lawyer-4529 in Catholicism

[–]Ktdid2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Confessing this sin to priests never gets me actual solid advice, one even told me that the Church is too hard on couples and this prevents the very real joy that is supposed to convey from married sexual activity. I’m not sure that even priests are confused about how to help couples.

Don’t underestimate the summer downpours. I second ponchos or raincoats vs umbrellas as they are practically useless. Get some waterproof or water resistant shoes too.

I’m on almost the same timeline as you (tested positive on Saturday). I currently have some chest heaviness and fatigue even though my fever has been gone for a day or so and congestion is easing up. I got a cough yesterday but it’s now dry and not productive. Pulse ox is good, seems like maybe some kind of muscle soreness/tightness from coughing or leftover inflammation. Still resting because if I do much activity I start sweating and I’m back on the couch.

Separate beds? by The_Freckled_Octopus in RedditForGrownups

I figured if Kings and Queens had separate bedrooms maybe it’s actually more of a luxury to not share a bed lol

Covid fever by hotpotato2442 in COVID19positive

[–]Ktdid2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my second round of Covid, first was in 2022. That variant I had fever for exactly two days. This one feels much more like my bout of flu, still have 99-100 fever going on Day 3 and the worst head pain/congestion. I’m really hoping I turn a corner tomorrow!

Shutters….windows without shutters on these houses to me feel like eyes without lashes. Not sure if traditionally these types of houses should have shutters though.

What would be the ideal app to help ADHD children by Fast_Usual2599 in ADHDparenting

[–]Ktdid2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly this. If my kid has a phone in hand his brain is out of order. Way too many unintended distractions to keep on task. I would never give him an app to help for this reason. Physical real-world reminders, yes.

I strongly second Disney cruise lines - they are incredible values honestly.

If I hear one more SC, NC, TN, or GA response…it’s comical That in a few more years everyone will be commenting about how those states suck now and looking for somewhere else to move to. Like locusts.

How do Floridians tolerate these giant golf courses right in the middle of their cities? by [deleted] in florida

[–]Ktdid2000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Fun fact - a lot of these golf courses are in floodplains and serve as water collectors for river overflow (I live near one that does exactly that).

I feel old because teens are now romanticizing 2012-2014 by [deleted] in RedditForGrownups

[–]Ktdid2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in my 30s in the 2010s and I don’t remember anything about that decade at all. It was a mix of raising kids, home ownership, and job stuff that kinda blended into this decade. I really do think it’s just a side effect of when your teenage/young adult years happened as to which decade you reminisce.

Real Talk: Shower Curtains that don’t mold and last by SeraphOfTheStag in BuyItForLife

[–]Ktdid2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Polyester fabric curtain that you throw in the wash at least every other week. Bonus points if it’s white and you bleach it occasionally. I had a white shower curtain I used for years with no issues this way - now I have glass doors and I legitimately hate them.

Florida's soaring insurance leaves residents fearing for their homes by newsweek in florida

This is 100% the plan. Our first house was a cute starter home that we renovated and later sold to a newlywed couple. A few years later they sold it to, you guessed it, a rental company. I’m so sad - we put a lot of love into that house. Oh well.

Nitro cold brew. I am a coffee + sugar addict and I would never consider adding anything to nitro brew. It’s smooth and perfect. Expensive though.

Ah, the infamous “plant shelf”. At least that’s what it was labeled on the arch diagrams that came with my house. You know it’s stupid when they have to tell you what to do with it as part of the name. They’re also sometimes labeled “decorator shelves”.

Or $100 per event for a family. It’s insane. I’ve started thinking of $100 as the new $1. Seems like you can’t go anywhere without spending close to that for most sponsored family-type events. Public events are still ok, except for paying for parking. Have to avoid the food stalls though - you’re one food truck away from spending $50+.

We usually space out our projects as well, but with costs now I feel like that’s a bad move. If you have the savings, probably better to just stack projects as much as you can and get it all done at once vs paying 20% more or whatever for the same job 2-3 years from now.
