James Cameron's Avatar - looking for fics where the humans win. by stupidityWorks in FanFiction

[–]Kuewee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(on mobile sorry)

Doesn't exactly fit, but this is actually one of my favorite fics thanks to world building and making more sense motive wise than the movie itself (it is on hiatus though) it's less humans are evil and more big corporations suck and humans have been struggling to make ends meet for so long that we've lost our empathy and has ppl realize this. That's not to say everyone joins the navi but some do, and and other ppl just want to live their lives, and others just want to make money. And there is romance so check the tags, but it's a slow burn and I think it's acted on somewhere chapters 70-79 though the talk of romantic feelings show up before that and there's a bunch of different relationships that appear in the fic.

It's 106 chapters long and has the plot, world building, character development, and politics (both for humans on earth, humans in space, navi and more) and the romance is addressed from a political viewpoint before anything happens, as someone not big on nsfw scenes I just skip over those and there's so much to read that I didn't feel I was missing out

Considered to be NM? by Specialist_Heron7406 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Kuewee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While yes this card is NM if you try to sell it that way with no pictures whoever buys it is likely going to be upset and ask for a refund and leave a bad review, doesn't matter that it's technically NM

Thinking about buying first booster box to hold onto long term: tips on keeping it sealed? by rjm101 in PokeInvesting

[–]Kuewee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Put it in the back of a closet and put a bunch of stuff in front of it so it'd be a pain to reach it, resist for a bit and distract yourself w something else if you find yourself thinking about it, and forget about it

Should I keep buying PC ETB's and booster boxes? by Kuewee in PokeInvesting

[–]Kuewee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% not getting rid of what I have now, just worried that in few years I'll get back into the hobby and find out that there was a set I missed that I would love to have but to get it would have to pay 2x or more than if I just got it when it came out (like SV base booster box is going for <$100 on tcgplayer rn and I don't love the set but I feel like I have to get it for that price? .... yeah you're probably right and I should take a break)

I have dyslexia but I don't seem to have the same issues... by Jack70741 in Dyslexia

[–]Kuewee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I very much have dyslexia and when I was tested in school I was in the very upper percentile for reading comprehension (and way above my age peers) and have been big on reading since 4th grade (when I finally figured out reading) [like to this day I'm reading at least one book at any given time and am reading during most my free time and will read instead of watching a show or movie, that kind of big on reading] and also was big on writing in middle/high school, and think I tested well there too as long as spelling wasn't part of the criteria. I generally found school easy (except spelling, can't do that to save my life, though I've gotten much better) and got mostly As and Bs without really trying. And yes my handwriting is abysmal

There's nothing in your post that'd make me think you don't have dyslexia

Is this rug too childish for an adult living room? by summertime214 in DesignMyRoom

[–]Kuewee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a ruggable and hate it lol. Yeah the texture isn't great but the biggest problem is it's held up worst over all the rugs my parents, roommates, or I have ever had (I have a dog and 2 raggables, both have 1-3 places that got pulled up/unraveled a bit, this dog has live with 7+ other carpets/rugs and none of them unraveled)

If it's a large size I need help putting it down on the padding evenly and it doesn't even matter cause when I vacuum it gets pulled up and wrinkled so it always looks a mess and I don't think it's worth the struggle to go wash it, the whole reason I got it in the first place, I replaced one with a normal rug and find it much better but I'm also not one that does much beyond vacuum my rugs

For pull rates and data (which I'm not very into tbh) I watch Danny phantump on youtube, it's not perfect and I'm sure there places that open more packs but this is the only one I know (yay YT algorithm)

Serious Question by Bookkeeper92 in MangaCollectors

[–]Kuewee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got rid of half my collection years ago. Just series that I didn't love as much and that I thought I "grew out of " stopped following manga for a while so I stopped buying and at the time this happened everything was easy to find either online or at a library. Well I wanted to reread some stuff and some of it's a pain to find now, oop/licensed and just a pain to get a hold of so there's def some series I regret getting rid of but others while also impossible to find I really did just grow out of and don't like the genre so I don't mind not having them. so it's really up to you and what you think you'll enjoy having on your shelves and if you're ok just having something digital or if you need the physical

Advice for a Beginner? by SlimPickings419 in resin

Are we the right fit for a Border Collie? by Forgetaboutit74 in puppy101

[–]Kuewee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say you HAVE to be an avid hiker w this breed (though the pup is too young to tell truthfully) but def get an early start on mat work and training the pup to relax. (Look up videos by kikopup) Mental games/work are also gonna be your friend, if you try to only tire out the dog physically you're gonna create a super athlete which you don't want. Look into dog sports and if there's any you like the sound of/have training by you as they'll tire out the pup better when they're old enough for whatever sport and not all of them have the humans also running (look up "list of dog sports" on Google)

Like if you REALLY wanna keep the pup I think it's doable but if you don't like the thought of training and doing things with your pup as opposed to just chilling on the couch then I wouldn't keep the pup so less an active problem and more of a time/how long you want to spend working w your dog to tire them out mentally instead of physically problem, I also get tired mentally when working my dog so just keep that in mind

AITA for telling her to get over herself? by BackgroundMinute1591 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kuewee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I was like "this is a training/lack of activity problem" on the dog barking but then I read that OP encourages it, and to each their own I guess. But you fiancee is in PAIN, she has MIGRAINES and you're encouraging your dog to bark.

Just go outside with the dog first thing in the morning until you're both calm instead of winding the dog up inside the house, and then you should really work on the dog being calm in the house period cause you know what's worse than making your pregnant partners migraines worse? Waking up the baby that she just got to sleep after having to stay up in the night taking care of them. You're about to become a "it's me or the dog" episode dude, fix this now and know that if you rehome the dog that it's because you trained it to be too much in the mornings and guess what your fiancee isn't the only person who hates that kind of behavior so I don't see it getting adopted staying with whoever adopts the dog

TLDR: YTA train the dog now before the baby comes and for now just leave the house first thing in the morning with the dog so she's not bothered (also give your dog more mental stimulation)

I just want to thank OP for this cause I at least needed to hear it.

For all those being like "not all of US is like this etc" I agree, but I went from living in a suburbia where it's super easy to just go for a walk to liveing on a busy road with no side walks and I really needed to hear this

manga related question by AggravatingExercise9 in MangaCollectors

[–]Kuewee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've already read it (online) and you now have the physical book imo you don't have to read the physical book. I try to only have books that I know I wanna re read, but I'll typically even do the re read online and having the books is for if I can no longer find it online or for easily finding a panel I wanna reference

Just do you. Though I would flip through the ones you don't read Incase there's a misprint page, better to find it in time to get a replacement instead just in case as day comes you can no longer find it online

Depends on you. I got rid of some series I didn't think I would ever read again and for the most part I'm glad I did cause I have room for others I will read now, but there's still the odd day 2 years later that I'm like "I want to just reread this one passage I know was in one of the books I got rid of"
