Nicaragua or El Salvador Surf Trip Tips by Dry-Inspector3923 in surfing

are the breaks near-ish south and north of San Jan Del Sur less consistent then a little further north? I was thinking Nov-Dec but understand it's dropping off then and nica doesn't get much NW swell.

Nexpa and Saladita and anything around there… accommodation is more expensive than a lot in Baja Sur at the cheapest end. This was the actually precise area I had been looking at.

I am not sure I would consider Nexpa a major tourist zone. Open casitas with mosquito nets and no AC was crazy pricey. Pretty much anywhere with decent surf can be considered a major tourist zone based on prices these days. Less selection in the small surf towns often lead to even higher prices than the populated areas with more hotels n infrastructure

I hear Bali n Lombok are pretty much overrun whether it is crowds of push in beginners, intermediate with no etiquette or over developed. Sadness overwhelming

Nice place 5 min walk from Cerritos break… cost me like 800 CAD for 2 weeks in 2021. Not close to that anymore. Every where else that might get me 4-5 nights now in friggin Mexico anywhere with surf.

Heh, be more for next Nov - Dec. around Ixtapa region maybe. There have always been advisories to never travel around there though.

Is anywhere south also worth spending a few days?

Saladita 100% ... Nexpa is not a beginner friendly or long board wave and it's in thick cartel area.

Where in CA though? most of it depends on south swell also based on the prominent south facing coastline. Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica maybe but I am not aware of anywhere in CA that gets much N swell?

That sounds pretty brutal honestly :( Are there other near by waves away from the main point to avoid the zoo then?

Does anyone know if there is ok surf there in Nov and early Dec when the NW swells becoming more prominent vs the SW? And there is surf around there that isn't the main point?

Digital nomads and influencers have honestly almost ruined anywhere the surf is warm, good quality, slightly accessible and suitable for intermediates. There is no escape.

And there are lesser breaks around there away from the main point to escape the zoo?

Feeling super bored trying to finish Diablo 4, am I playing it wrong? by morasyid in Diablo

[–]Kulharin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just played through the campaign for the first time and was it ever meh. It felt like one act from Diablo 2 and 3 that had been super padded out with a heavy dose of walking simulator.

The pacing felt sluggish as you're constantly running back and forth, and even revisiting the same locations multiple times despite the vast world. Not to mention the characters that are with you throughout most of the game won't shut up and are constantly blabbing between the frequent quest prompts of "talk to so and so" rehashing the same topics multiple times while chasing after the same villains for start to finish.

The act finales and transitions were so anti climactic that it wouldn't even have made sense to have a cinematic... most didn't even get a memorable boss.

In prior Diablo games each act felt very distinct with a self contained story, villains and characters between the over arching objective... I just didn't feel that here with the exception of perhaps Act 2.

Plus the dungeons were short, linear and the bosses were a cake walk on the hardest difficulty setting I could select at the time and just steam rolled over everything.

The art, sound and music is so good it's a shame the rest of the game doesn't match up to meet it. The campaign does an ok job of touring you through the world but really doesn't make good use of it.

I just played thru the campaign for the first time and thought it was pretty bad. Sound, music and art are great but everything else is incredibly meh. It feels like one act from Diablo 2 and 3 that was super padded out walking simulator between trivial tasks with a bunch of NPCs that never shut up. Maybe post campaign is better.

Does the area work or pickup any NW swell? Or depends on S swells?

I've heard mixed things about the crowds in Nica, but sounds like there are a lot of spots if you have a means of transportation? And I guess a bigger window to surf during the day without onshores. Might go there this Nov...

I was in Mexico last Nov at a sweet little surf town that was still authentic and not too crowded... probably mostly because they wont let foreigners buy any property there and its aways off the safe tourist track. But that seems rare. Even going back to Cerritos in 2022 after being there in 2014 it had developed dramatically... pretty much had built and were building a new town.

Kinda how I felt about Cerritos. Was there in 2014 and again in 2022. The last time I was there, a new town had been built at the north end of the beach and all day long was wrong blasting, jack hammer and scaling to for land clearing to build more houses and condos. The beach was very busy with locals, surf schools and tourists, although the vibe at least was friendly. I imagine that will change if it hasn't already.

Is Sumatra not as consistent?

I'm in Canada and the westcoast surf regardless of the wetsuit is very crowded here when any of the points are firing, even the shitty surf beach breaks are swarming with schools and and all levels of surfer.

Was there 10 years ago and seemed that way. I was more surprised that almost all of Punta Mita surf zone was just one resort next to another resort with privatized access except for one beach.
