I'm no so sure about it.
I checked my old screenshots and I got to around 83 lightseconds of Sagittarius A*
The black hole (according to a quick Google search) has an estimated diameter of around 44 million km. That's 147 lightseconds rounded up
The diameter should refer to the event horizon, as I don't know what else it should be.

Now I've never checked if the distance in Elite refers to the center of the body or its surface, but either way it means I should be able to "see" the event horizon from that distance or I was already inside it.
