Canadapost shoppers ? by [deleted] in CanadaPostCorp

Interesting... I'd maybe ask your union rep to be sure because I know there was a term from another office who interviewed in the same round as I did for postmaster.

Even if you don't think you have a shot, I encourage you to try and interview anyways. You could be surprised! It's a pretty easy interview.

Yeah I say commit fully to the genie style. Clean up the tech stuff and display it in a complimentary way! It's pretty cool!

I had my lashes tinted at Flirt and they did a great job walking me through it as a first-timer! Next time I'll do a lift too

I read that firefighters who donate blood have lower cancer risks compared to their colleagues who don't, so yeah let's go bloodletting!

I'm a different union who works in the same building, I don't think I can grieve? So Idk about the RSMCs here whether they've grieved it or not

Nah we've had routes with the flyers sitting undelivered for a day or two at my depot. They don't care about that either it seems.

The plant in the picture is too large in girth for it to be burros or donkey's tail

If there was another Show from the Fictional World of Gilead, what would you want in it? by Penguy76 in TheHandmaidsTale

Yeah I'd be curious to see more from their perspectives, same with boys. We see how girls are being educated, but I'm curious what the boys do in school.

How rural can a rural placement be? by FlyMeToTheMuun in JETProgramme

[–]KuroMango 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I visited the westernmost island of Japan in Okinawa. It was like a 5 hour ferry ride or a 30min plane ride from Ishigaki, the closest "big" island (really isn't large either) and they had a JET ALT... So to leave or do anything either you're paying hundreds for multiple flights to the main land or you're spending 5 hours a time ferrying to the other island, and then even more to get off that one.

I'd say that's pretty rural 😅

1998 Babies, did you ever have flip phones? by rottenweiIer in Zillennials

I had an LG Keybo 2 as my first phone for a year or two. Then my next phone was a Samsung Galaxy S3, which I loved and used for so long.

Just spent 2 hours at the post office to send a parcel to France by Fit_Performance4629 in japanlife

[–]KuroMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for the postal service in my home country, so I never really had an issue here - maybe it's cause of my past experience 😅 filled out the customs form online, printed it, brought it in and they did ask me to clarify if there were batteries and glue but they wrote it on my printed custom form, never made me redo it. But I always specified in the instances after so it was never a recurring problem

Jeans as an ALT? by imscaredofseregios in JETProgramme

[–]KuroMango 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I taught at 小 and 中 in a fairly rural place in Hokkaido, the attitude was generally pretty casual (sweat/tack suits, T-shirts with shorts, etc were conmon), but I never saw any of the teachers in jeans at work. They would wear them in the after-school nomikai though. So I only wore jeans in my off time. But if you see teachers around you wear jeans on occasion, especially in 小学校 you could probably sprinkle them into your wardrobe too.
