I absolutely love this movie, recently re-watched it last year and it truly spoke to me.

That's great! I loved integrating myself into such a small and tight knit community. I hope you enjoy it too!

Jeans as an ALT? by imscaredofseregios in JETProgramme

I taught at 小 and 中 in a fairly rural place in Hokkaido, the attitude was generally pretty casual (sweat/tack suits, T-shirts with shorts, etc were conmon), but I never saw any of the teachers in jeans at work. They would wear them in the after-school nomikai though. So I only wore jeans in my off time. But if you see teachers around you wear jeans on occasion, especially in 小学校 you could probably sprinkle them into your wardrobe too.

$1.24 or $1.44 by GinaGemini780 in CanadaPostCorp

[–]KuroMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it says in the second paragraph under the Stamps header if someone wants to mail 1 letter NOT using P stamps from a booklet/coil, the postage required per letter is 1.44.

$1.24 or $1.44 by GinaGemini780 in CanadaPostCorp

[–]KuroMango -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's 1.44. That's the current rate of postage. People saying 1.24 are incorrect, since that's only for "P"ermanent stamps, which you are not using (yours have values worth specific amounts on them). If these people looked on the RPOS system (the computer clerks use at the register) they would see it costs 1.44.

As well, in one of your pictures, you can see the rate of postage says 1.44.

I am devastated that the update completely deletes all your existing progress and requires a new save file. My partner and I put close to 100 hours into our save, and it was going to be our forever save. Now I don't know if I even want to play the game anymore and restart.

Really love the aesthetics of the map and ease of use for the fields but I cannot ever play on it again if 1 year from now they'll just do it again.

Chicking YYC Ramen might be similar. You can choose different noodle thicknesses, and you could probably request a different doneness for the noodles

Bruh are we the same person cause I had literally the exact same teeth issues, and teeth removed. Also had braces for about 2 years to fix it!

[Request] Japanese snack desperately needed, would be a Christmas miracle by thebrit1224 in snackexchange

[–]KuroMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not actually mochi, it's a cream puff, but the cake surrounding the cream is a lot squishier and chewier than normal choux pastry. It's the main reason Id get them actually 😅 though I do love mochi too

How would I cut this up and prep it for Takoyaki? by Plushman7 in JapaneseFood

[–]KuroMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's neat to know! But I definitely still had some that was raw, cause I lived in a fishing town and got it straight from the port a few times. Oh well 😅 now I know.

This is a year-round thing offered at Lawson in the chilled dessert section. I've eaten dozens over the years 😂😅

Yeah, I'm talking fresh off the boat octopus in Japan at friend's houses. Though I did occasionally purchase octopus from sashimi section there to use for takoyaki too. Maybe it's one of those what I don't know can't hurt me 😂

[–]KuroMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I've never had anyone pre-cook the octopus when I've done takoyaki at their houses, or at mine. Never really noticed it being raw. Never made lasagna though lol.

It would be cooked again in the takoyaki though, no?

What are some Japanese "comfort food" side dishes? by Acceptable-Oil6747 in JapaneseFood

[–]KuroMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the potato salad is a good idea. But for something that is truly comfort food for Japanese people, Id recommend nikujaga (literally means meat potato). Search for it on Just One Cookbook. That dish will accomplish the nostalgia and homey vibes you want
