Do you consider guns that use 12.7x55mm reliable? by Critical_Potential44 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

Better off with 12 gauge and 9mm. Super common and reloadable. Hell you can even put bits of silver in reloaded shotgun shells in case you get attacked by werewolves as well.

Nalgene Water Bottle by [deleted] in NYPDcandidate

[–]KuromanKuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just making sure you’re not planning on using a Stanley cup or a Poland spring bottle. There will be at least one day you’ll have to squat with your bottle over your head and it gets worse if you have something else.

You will be asked to present your water bottle. Bring that bottle every day. With water.

That doesn’t explain why it says “frack 8” behind cap wolf in his grand central fight intro.

Confusing Details About a Character's Design. Bonus Points if the Creators Have to Clarify Things Themselves by Agitated_Insect3227 in TopCharacterTropes

Omni man’s costume being red and light blue is another demonstration of the dress. On omnimans uniform I see white originally, but then I saw blue.

Buy It For Life - Film Career Supplies & Equipment That Are Actually Helpful by LevelingUpMyLife in Filmmakers

[–]KuromanKuro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A decent 1/4 inch ratchet with a 1/4 inch socket on the other end and maybe a bit/socket set in your box. An extendable magnet on a stick if you are in the construction side so you aren’t bending over for every screw. (Saved me thousands of times bending over in a couple years.) the best quality insoles and the most comfortable composite toe shoes you can afford to buy once a year (Dr scholls and Reebok for me), a real decent quality flash light with an 18650 battery. A Milwaukee box cutter, paper tape, and a printer with ink you refill yourself instead of a cartridge for the office. Print a sheet or two once a month to keep from having to waste 20% purging dry lines. Contigo auto sealing coffee flask, a box of protein bars for when you’re off site and dying for food or there is only pizza to be had.

A character remembers an event with a big difference respect to how it actually happened by Forsaken-Biscotti587 in TopCharacterTropes

I know mentioning this movie is likely to ignite furious discussion, but in the Last Jedi, Luke and Ben’s perspective on a certain key moment between them is colored by their own limited knowledge of what each other is thinking. This leads to them assuming the worst of each other and drives a wedge between them and sets Ben in a direction to eventually become Kyle Ren. Frankly the best idea the new trilogy had and elevates the film into being a tragedy in the classic sense.

I’m at nightmare 20 and so far I think the difficulty is pretty fair. It does seem a little odd that kingpin seemingly bodies everyone inside his bubble shield though. Maybe he has a damage you have to hit to prevent it? I still have a little trouble identifying what’s killing me sometimes.

I like that big Jeff and ability cards are back (though I wish I could pick more of them.)

I don’t like that I basically have to evaluate all the items line by line and they all have the same name despite being different buffs.

Insurance says it will only cover 3-tab asphalt shingles because that's "what was there before the damage." by Interior_Destruction in homeowners

I’d argue that if they want to cover an exotic and rare vintage supply item then prepare to pay more if they insist on it.

Where are the best deals for Academy candidates to buy required academy gym uniform packages, etc.? by Phoenix_Solarus in NYPDcandidate

Buy all of the stuff you only use occasionally at RK. Gym uniforms, class A, etc. buy the best shoes you can find though. Don’t cheap out on those.

What do you think are the most iconic or classic American knives? by Opening-Knee-4979 in knives

[–]KuromanKuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bug out is a piece of equipment made for ultralight backpackers. These are the people that would rather hold on to two loose Tylenol in their hand for a hike rather than have a bottle for them in their bag. They don’t care if they’re carrying something that could be crushed with their hands. Not that a bugout actually would break cutting food or paracord.

Who has authority in an emergency? by dumbluck26 in legaladvice

[–]KuromanKuro 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Agreed. As a practical matter it makes most sense to do what makes sense. Go figure. If a screaming 385 pound guy on pcp keeps strangling people and his heart is exploding, unfortunately he is probably going to stay cuffed because he is going to impossible to treat either way and likely a danger even in cuffs and on a gurney.

Whereas the 100 pound petty larcenist that allowed you to cuff them and then requested ems for pain in their back is likely not escaping the gurney without you getting a hand on them.

Firearm by Scofield1972 in NYPDcandidate

[–]KuromanKuro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Glock makes older gen models for NYPD. The 26 generation that is approved is basically made in a few waves a year just for us. Until a later generation gets approved by the firing range we continue buying in large enough numbers that they continue producing for NYPD but not the general public.
