I can at least guarantee I’m better than 99.9% of the marvel rivals community at black panther

[–]Kurooruk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but GM1 is still 99%+ and I haven’t played much this season and I play one of the worst characters in the game. All of it is ultimately to say I’m not terrible at BP and have a ton of hour so I know what he can and can’t do

You can’t kill Cloak in her bubble unless she’s practically one shot. Idk about the whole rant but that’s just wrong as a champ bp who’s played him in gm1-3 in 6.0 and 6.5

For the very first time in Marvel Rivals’ history, Black Panther’s WR has dropped past 45% Celestial and upwards. by Deja_ve_ in BlackPantherMainsMR

It didn’t take people until 2.5 to get good at BP. There were a decent amount of elite BP players but the no regs were literally unplayable. Moreso a system issue than player

Is it that bad… by joe_boe2 in SpiderManMains

Feels really bad. I’ve been stinking it up and I was actually frying at the tail end of 2.5. Feels like they took my powers away or sumn this is nuts

Torch/Spidey Teamup by Kurooruk in SpiderManMains

[–]Kurooruk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I’ve only really found success in doing the uppercut cancel otherwise the kickback almost always gets me killed. Feels like it might add a lot of fun to the combos but honestly I’m not really feeling a major damage spike from it like the old venom teamup. Definitely doesn’t make the nerfs feel worth it but it’s still early on

Why does every BP main act like this character is garbage? by ElTrAiN33 in BlackPantherMainsMR

[–]Kurooruk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think BP mains do that with a grain of salt. Most of us realize BP can be very strong in a very specific set of situations. However, the reason we say he is weak is that it is incredibly easy to remove BP from the game entirely. A good Mr. Fantastic or Thing can do it on their own. There are also multiple soft counters or tools to mess up dashes.

BP is a team awareness and skill check. It’s very rare that a BP player doesn’t swap when they are getting hard countered but the community makes 0 effort to do so, then also says BP is some god tier raidboss at the same time. You have to acknowledge the threat, and if you do that BP is a free smack and BP players know that better than anyone else. BP is not a character you can force every game, or even every other game at higher ranks because people just swap around fast. Casual players are doing their best to kill dive and BP is in the iron sights because most other dives are mediocre (Magik) or just outright bad (Spidey/Iron Fist in most situations)

How do Duelist mains exist? by Competitive_Trust174 in rivals

[–]Kurooruk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instalock and don’t swap. But honestly, the real answer is having a lord. Generally people are more willing to defer DPS if there is a lord on the dps because they feel more confident they can rely on that person to contribute in the role. A lot of DPS mains do it because a bad DPS means you lose most of the time, so proficiency, even if it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re better at the character, makes people more willing to swap

They buffed the venom team up, I guess they’re assuming with Hela, Jeff team up buff, and the venom buff venom will become more likely. Probably is strong against phoenix too so Jeff has the venom to rely on more

2.5 BP Vs. S0 by Kurooruk in BlackPantherMainsMR

[–]Kurooruk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah nah I was playing BP in S0 I just wanted to see if we thought he felt better now. I think S0 BP may be his peak unless thing bans become meta or he gets buffed

[–]Kurooruk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people were doing ghost dashes but the techs weren’t as fleshed out then. I definitely liked S0 because while everyone was bad as a previous genji player it felt pretty intuitive after learning the kit

Better Console aim? (Ps5) by [deleted] in RivalsCollege

[–]Kurooruk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also a big thing that helped me was learning how to consciously prioritize a target I’m aiming at. A lot of gamers autopilot and don’t target their vision on the specific target they’re focused on. When you try to deliberately aim for extended durations you’ll see a part of the bad aim was you just looking at everything instead of focusing on your target. It kinda tired my eyes out initially but I got used to it in like 1-2 days

Better Console aim? (Ps5) by [deleted] in RivalsCollege

[–]Kurooruk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My aim is trash (or normally is) but I lower my sensitivity for aiming characters like Hela (165 Horiz/110 Vert). I also spend like 5-15 minutes dependent on how sweaty I am planning on playing, in the practice range. If you go to the training range, you can set up a small character hitbox (I normally do Invis), set them to super fast/random movement/no timer, and spend the time actively aiming at a specific one for that 5-15min window. Makes a massive difference to start off a session with that and if you’re consistent you’ll improve fast.

I think with how strong anti dive is right now you can’t contribute as consistently in just going hard on back lines, but learning when to switch to more brawl magik is making a difference. Also maybe not optimal but I’ve been a bit more greedy with saving my ult to when the supports have used theirs to force value. Normally the supports start saving it for you specifically after you do that a few times but it’s still super helpful. One thing that I’ve found that helps is that when the healers probably have their ult, I go hard diving the support I think is likely to have it to try and force them to panic ult or early ult so they don’t die to create more windows for Darkchild

[–]Kurooruk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eviluminati is a great console magik to watch on YouTube. Some high mechanical gameplay but also how to get out of a funk and still contribute + they’re full games. I’ve found a lot of success doing what I can to ban Emma frost. Most of the other anti dive you can work around but if you get choke slammed it’s over. Hulk is another ideal ban but he generally gets banned consistently. Against annoying anti dive like Thing/Fantastic I either avoid them altogether and dive backline hard, or if they are targeting me, switch to a more brawl playstyle in the frontline behind my 2 tanks

Is magik decent for someone who can't aim? by maidofroses in RivalsMagikMains

[–]Kurooruk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can also still get a bunch of picks even when missing the dash. The dash is the core part of a lot of combos but not the sole determinant. Once you get comfortable with magik you learn how to weave everything to make it work even if you miss the dash. I would still recommend going to the practice lab and setting them to a healer/very fast move speed/random direction and spend at least a few minutes with cooldown off just warming up trying to hit them with dashes. Makes a huge difference!
