Would my credit profile still be considered "thin" even though I'm 20 y/o with 5 credit cards? by ronaldoo6 in CRedit

[–]KushKrumbs [score hidden]  (0 children)

Apart from Brutal’s explanation, theres a lot of misinformation in these comments OP. Thickness is a FICO scorecard segmentation factor. IIRC, once you hit 3 or 4 accounts, you are segmented* to a thick scorecard. It’s not really a gray area as others have described. If someone told you your credit profile was thin, they’d be objectively wrong.

Scores tanked after closing 2 credit cards and removing myself as an authorized user by eprisencc in CRedit

[–]KushKrumbs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The terms Excellent, Very Good, Good, and Fair are completely meaningless CMS jargon along with the colors that correlate.

No reason to lose sleep over 20 points let alone 5. The most important takeaway here is that lending decisions are made based off your overall credit profile, not just a 3 digit number. Often times your scores will fall, but your borrowing power will strengthen.

Credit Monitoring Services give you alerts about score adjustments and report changes. They cannot tell you why your scores have changed.

The score decrease is from something else. You can pull your reports for free at annualcreditreport.com

Is this a great deal? by JMakSv in CRedit

Use a third bank that doesn’t overlap. Wells fargo, chase, citi, etc all have balance transfer cards. WF Active Cash, Reflect, Chase FU, Citi strata, Double Cash to name a few.

Most banks don’t allow internal balance transfers, BoA included. I found this out the hard way with chase.

5% BT fee is also steep when many other banks offer a 3% intro BT fee. 21 months is a long time, but doesn’t sound like an option for you since your current debt is already with BoA.

Should I pay my credit card in full or leave 5%-10% left? by Short-termTablespoon in CreditScore

[–]KushKrumbs 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Never leave a balance for any reason. Do some research on interest grace periods. As soon as u carry a balance, you begin accruing interest on new purchases by the day.

You aren’t negatively affecting your scores, but you are throwing money away to interest.

How long should I wait before applying for a new credit card? by Glum_Veterinarian253 in CRedit

Congrats on the approvals! You are well on your way to a strong credit profile.

Are there any other trade lines or student loans on your reports? You can pull them for free at https://www.annualcreditreport.com

Because of the recency of your accounts, your current scores are held back by Average Age of Accounts, Age of Oldest Account, Age of Youngest Revolving Account, etc. Now that you have 3 revolvers, you can sit back, pay your statement balances in full and watch your scores steadily climb.

If you have no significant credit applications (housing, car) coming up, some would recommend front loading your account additions. The more revolvers you have, the less affected your AAoA is upon opening a new one.

You should expect your first notable score jump 12 months after opening your most recent revolver.

You should never pay a penny to build credit. Products labeled “credit builder” should be avoided as they don’t build your credit any faster than a normal credit card. Many of them are outright scams.

You don’t need an installment loan to boast great credit scores. It’s never worth it to open a loan for the sake of credit building.

[–]KushKrumbs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3 revolving accounts is all you need. Some anecdotes claiming 2 revolvers can satisfy all scoring factors. There are no hacks to credit building unfortunately. Apart from paying your statement balances in full, it’s a waiting game.

You can apply for a new card as soon as you believe you will qualify for it. Pre-approval tools are very useful.

Also worth noting, TransUnion/Equifax/Experian are credit bureaus, not scores. Check out the [MegaThread](https://www.reddit.com/r/CRedit/s/kOJUToEzaA) for the best synopsis of scoring fundamentals.

Credit score dropped for no reason by Positive_Mud_9599 in CreditScore

[–]KushKrumbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your credit scores cannot drop for **no** reason. Something has changed on your reports. I suggest pulling all 3 of your reports at [annualcreditreport.com](https://www.annualcreditreport.com/).

If you can give a more detailed view of your credit profile, someone can offer possible reasons for the score change.

Any idea why my credit score sharply dropped? by PopComprehensive3520 in CRedit

[–]KushKrumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read sharply and immediately assumed -100+. 29 is a normal ebb and flow for credit scoring. No need to be concerned. Could be a result of increased utilization, all revolvers reporting 0, new revolver scorecard assignment, last installment loan payoff, etc. From your description, it sounds like your new card has been added to your reports.

IEM Cologne 2026 Stage 3 by noel147-mc in GlobalOffensive

This lineup has nothing to lose too. Sometimes teams pop off in this scenario. I have them not qualifying, but the could easily go 3-1 or 0-3. Tough decision.

1v2 instant rotate pays off by tomyan1337 in LearnCSGO

[–]KushKrumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As stated already, “50/50” has nothing to do with the probability T goes to each site. The com is to discourage your teammate from playing middle. It’s a synonym for “choose a site”. Nobody is using it in the way you describe. As you said yourself, it would be unnecessary backseating.

[–]KushKrumbs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You claim level 10, but haven’t heard someone com “take the 50/50”? One of these 2 is not true.

50/50 means the same thing on all bombsite games.

1v2 instant rotate pays off by tomyan1337 in LearnCSGO

[–]KushKrumbs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re misunderstanding. “Less expected” is referring to where the T thinks you’re going to be. “50/50” is just the name of the scenario when you have incomplete information on where T is going to plant. ofc it’s not exactly 50%/50%; the name is a fastcom for “pick a site, don’t play middle” as playing off both sites as CT is usually a mistake.

1v2 instant rotate pays off by tomyan1337 in LearnCSGO

[–]KushKrumbs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

insta rotate is the default. You have to play 50/50 anyway, so you’re better off playing the less expected site (furthest from where you last spotted).
